  1. Hi I have sent a meesage to Connect customer support - I'll let you know what they say when I hear back from them. On searching the help files, all I can find out is that I think I have to _add_ my new PC to my list of computers (5 max) by accessing my account. Well, I have tried to do this but cannot see any way of doing it. It simply won't let me login to connect from my new PC using my existing username and password as it says software license is invalid for this PC. Using my old PC I cannot seem to add my new PC either - how do you do that? And finally, trying to regsiter my new PC with the same username(e-mail address) doesn't work either. Do Sony wany people to use their Connect site or not I wonder? I am trying patiently but cannot get anywhere. I am beginning to loathe DRM music as it won't let you use what you supposedly own and have paid for. So annoying. Thanks.
  2. Hi I just got a new PC so on my old PC I ran the backup tool for Sonic Stage 3.1 on WinXP to backup all my ATRAC music. I then copied this backup file to my new PC and ran SS 3.1 restore program on it, again using WinXP. It all worked fine, it connected to the net (what _does_ it do?) and I can play all my songs I have ripped from my CD collection just fine BUT I cannot play those music file that I had downloaded from the Connect web site. SS WILL NOT LET ME PLAY THESE ATRAC MUSIC FILES!!! When I try to play them SS says it will try to download a licence for them (what?) and then says cannot play the song as it has invalid rights management. Is this normal? I can't believe it is, because all the money I spend downloading songs from the Connect site is now wasted if SS allows me to play the tracks ONLY on the computer and installed operating system I downloaded them with! So if the operating system needs reinstalling or if I buy a new PC I then lose all that downloaded music and thus waste all that money. :-( Can anyone help here? Any one else had this experience? Any advice or feedback would be much appreciated. :-) Thanks in advance
  3. Thank you very much indeed for your answer, it is much appreciated. :-)
  4. Hi I am trying to get some tech info but did not know where to ask. This forum seemed the closest match and hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. Apologies if this post is way out of place. In short, I have just bought a Sony NW-E99 network walkman player and it is great but I think it might have a fault. When I play ATRAC3 or ATRAC3+ or MP3 songs on it, the tempo is just ever so slightly too fast. I compared it by playing a CD in my Hi Fi CD player whilst listening to the same track on the walkman. I synchronize them but after about 30-40 seconds synchronization starts to drift and the E99 player leads the way, so it must have a slightly faster tempo. I haved tried this with MP3 files too (128kbps CBR) ripped using both Sonic Stage and LAME. It also does this with ATRAC files ripped with SS. Is this normal or a fault? Should I expect perfect tempo even? Finally, if I play back the ATRAC file using the PC that ripped it, the tempo is fine, and stays in synch with the CD player on my Hi Fi. So it sounds like there may be a fault with the decoder (or clock) on my NW-E99 player. Can anyone give my any advice about this issue? Any help much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
