Hi All!! New to this forum and I have a few questions to those of you who are in the know!! I have a very good hi-fi setup at home, with a very well respected CD player that has a digital out (both coax and opt). I'm after the very best quality recording quality to MD to play back on my Sony MZ-N10. Now I'd love to be able to record PCM direct to get the very best recording, but that would mean that I would have to purchase a Hi-MD!! What are my best options (seeing as I brought the MZ-N10 at it's peak when it was £250 ish)?? Therefore I don't really want to go out and replace my 'on-the-move' unit. I had always connected the N10 direct to the CD Player via Opt Out and recorded direct. Now if I got a MiniDisc deck (say Sony MDS-JB9xx) with at least Type-R or Type-S, would I get a better recording?? Or would I be better off going a step up to Hi-MD and recording PCM direct? Or get an upsampler for the CD player and feed that to a JB9xx for recording?? Decisions, decisions... Thanks Duncan.
