  1. i called Sony and they said that the product was defective. J&R sent me a new one and now everythings cool. i do my first real MD test on the job this weekend.
  2. yeah thats what the problem was, the timing was jumbled. whatever happened last would be first, whatever happned first would be in the middle, chopped up some kind of way, it was just all screwed up. i am STRONGLY considering sending the player back. STRONGLY. i'll probably call the company today to make arrangements.
  3. i'm using the sp-bmc-2 (the ones that go in your ear) and i just downloaded Sonic Stage 3.2 from off the site I don't want to have to return it, but it looks like its become a bad investment, folks let me know if i'm doing something wrong.
  4. I just bought a Rh-910 for field recordings. Tested it out, but I wasn't pleased with the results. My first real test was just me walking around my building, going to lunch, etc. But when I played it back on the player. it seemed like it broken into segments that would play and repeat itself 3 times before going to the next segment. Then when I brought it into Sonic Stage, I got an error transfering the clip...but when I tried to we transfer the clip, I got a message saying that the clip had been transfered from another computer (when it'd been on that computer). This is my first MD Recorder/Player. The enviroment I'm going to be recording in does require movement (i'm a photographer and the MD is going to do an audio version of what takes place during my work. I'm about to ship it back to JR, if i'm overlooking something please help. I was using a Hi-MD disk to record. Thanks
  5. i just ordered the TFB-2's from Sound Professionals. Now i'm just a matter of getting the MD Player. its really a toss up, because there will be points when i'll be doing video as well as audio. i'm almost certain that audience will want video, but there a certain feel that stand alone audio presentations have that visual presentations don't.
  6. thanks for the info so far. the mini dv camera does use ACG, but thats been fine thus far (surprisingly) and i've been in the thick of some pretty loud (marching) bands. on the flip side of it too though is that I could always just rip the audio track once the video has been downloaded/captured to my computer.
  7. Okay, i've finally got my funds situated where I can afford to get a mini disc player and a good pair of mics (i guess i better buy a s'load of Hi-MDs if they cut the line though) I'm going to be doing field recordings of Marching Bands, but here's the thing, i've just borrowed a DV camera that has a plug in power mic in it. i was wondering should i just buy a mic to work with it (i'd be getting the SP-TFB-2) or should i get the MD player for the audio? if its a stupid question, please forgive me, i don't know. thanks again.
  8. I'm a BRAND SPANKING NEWBIE (very first post) and i've learned something. Thanks folks be cool
