  1. Thanks I have tried solution #2 and have just recieved the now-familiar error message 'Installation process for SonicStage 3.4 has been terminated. (2051, 20703)' upon my sony registry-key free attempt. So how would I go about manually installing OpenMG (please dont hate the install-illiterate!!)?
  2. hi, after searching the internet for the past 3 hours and trying numerous times to install sonicstage, i am at my wits end. ive found a few topics that might be relevent to whats happening here, but im kind of at an understanding level below the jargon used in the solutions, so please make any replies idiot-proof I have a copy of SonicStage that was included with my Network Walkman, and had installed it successfully on my previous computer without any memorable issue, but I'm trying to install it on my current computer (compatible with all the requirements) and its not working. During the SonicStage installation when it gets to the 'addon' part of the install it gives me the message 'error reading archive. the selected files could not be extracted' and opens a program that im assuming SHOULD extract the files, however all fields are inaccessable except for 'cancel' and 'help'. In the help section of this program it says I may also try to extract with WinZip, however attempting that has been met with no success. After rebooting, I try to open SonicStage and it opens a dialogue box that says 'cannot find the OpenMG Secure Module. Exiting Sonicstage'. SO, I tried to download SonicStage from first the sony website, as well as a connect link found on a forum. It goes through installation to the point where it removes the previous version, then it stops and says the installation has been aborted--leaving me with no SonicStage at all. All I want to do here is retrieve my music off of my MP3 Player onto my computer into either a .wav or .mp3 format. If someone would be able to either walk me through the steps to the successful install of SonicStage, or point me in the right direction to somewhere that has that information I would be so very very very happy! Thanks in advance. Computer Specs: Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2 installed SonicStage 3.0 and 3.4 attempted to install (3.0 is disk version) USB 2.0 Intel Pentium III Processor (664mHz) 384MB RAM No other programs running at time of install. No antivirus, no explorer, no nothin!
