  1. A440, Huge thanks for the confirmation and advice. I was afraid that this was the only way to get back to my old settings. In the past, with MD and MDLP generation units, I always had to worry about tape flips at 80 min. However, I was always using mic in. I never had an issue like this with mic in on the old units. Sure, it would take the time to write the TOC, but pop in a new disc and I could be sure the sound settings would stay consistent between the two discs. Is this still possible if I switch to mic in rather than line in? I know I might sacrifice some quality, but it might be worth it as being quick and stealth are big issues. I had a show a day ago and felt incredibly strange not knowing my gear and agonizing over the decision all day of PCM or Hi-SP mode. If you've done loud concerts - what rec vol do you recommend. I'm also wondering if there are any other must knows besides the manual volume reset and appropriate volume settings for small clubs / arena's. I'd love to hear your throughts Well, I've a show on Thursday and another on Saturday. I guess I'll practice the manual method Thursday and hope to hear your thoughts about mic in as a possible solution. Is it? dave
  2. Hi folks, Brand new to the forum and just got new gear this past week. Still very new to Hi-MD. My experience with MD was with the R70 R700 models - no battery module. So, I'm not a total idiot :-) running at933's ->o SPSB6 batt box -> line in HD NH900. I have a show to tape tonight and I need to know if it is possible to exchange my first PCM / WAV disc out (tape flip at 96 min) and not lose the manual settings I have set (recording level etc...) I would think this would be an option, but each time I tried this last night, the new disc would start with Auto record levels etc... Why bother to sell an MD lossless recorder if mosts shows are 2 hours and they know that we would want to swap out disks? Is there a resolution or link that someone can point me to? I know it's rude to post when you know the topic has probably been covered. However, I did not expect this to be an issue, and as you can see, I'm really under the gun. A bonus would be if someone would mention what recording level x/30 they would start at. What's safe without getting too close to clipping? Any tips appreciated, and I'm glad I found you guys!
