  1. hahha yeah Im being very persistant about this, its just b/c I want to make sure it is completely impossible before I give up. I find modding out electronics to be fun so if I can do it with my nh600d then I will.... though if I fuck it I won't have an md for a while ...
  2. Hey guys, if anyone has a nh600 euro and are willing to open it. Could you send me a photo of the front and back of the main circuit board? Thanks anyone. And is there a nh600 service manual anywhere? I know the nh600d is around but looking for the euro one for additional information and parts.
  3. Thanks for pointing that out. Is there a service manual and shots (front and back) of the nh600 board out anywhere or can some one take a photo of the front and back of their nh600. Cause even voltage regulators and other parts I can buy from my electronic store and install. Though I think the software side of this upgrade is not even there, missing the lines of code for the rec function (still verifying). Attached is the back side of the main board if anyone wants to see. for the audio in, the wiring goes to a dead but I believe that justneeds to get connected to another point on the board. 4. Hey guys and anyone still looking at this thread. First off, thanks for the service manual for nh600d. I am researching into doing a upgrade to my nh600d to a nh600 (basically just adding the line in and dc in. I opened up my nh600d for inital inspection and found the necessary socket holes for the parts are made on the mainboard. I have been looking thru the sevice manual for the nh600d and it seems that the chip has a mic in/line in on the chip just not inuse. I having trouble looking through the manual to see if in fact the necessary chip section is connected to the line in holes on the main hole, Would anyone know if it is? and also the dc in? and if holes for the line in and dc in are connected to the board and just require finding and soldering the appropriate parts (it would silly if it was that easy). Is there a value in the service mode of the nh600d to make the download button the rec button as it is in the nh600? Sorry if thats alot of questions and maybe even confusing. I have a thread made for this http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=10497. And for the ppl wondering why I would bother with it, if the ports are cheap and I can upgrade it easily then I don't need to buy another unit for recording and other ppl with a nh600d can get more use out of their cheap low end nh600d. Thanks everyone and anyone who helps me out. [attachmentid=351]
  5. "unpopulated"? not sure what you mean but I have went through the service manual the main chip has a line in and mic in, I'll post the line on the chip later. I have just opened my nh600d to see if there is anything where the dc in and audio in are I found the holes for putting the necessary parts are made, just need the parts (ie the audio port and dc in plug).Im going to check to see if the port holes actually go to the chip. I will laugh and be shocked if all that needs to be done is a soldering in the ports and enabling the functions via service mode hack.... back in a bit[attachmentid=349][attachmentid=350]
  6. Not really, getting the appropriate dc port and audio port is really easy and cheap (less than 5 bucks canadian) and soldering is really quick. Find a drill bit that is a tad bigger than the port so it can stick out. The major part will be getting any use out of the ports after you attach them, which is where the service mode comes in. Oh thanks starknight for the link, will go thru.
  7. Just checking to see if there is any interest in doing something like this. I think it would be nice to a Line In and DC In. From what I have seen all ppl would need is the dc plug and audio port and some minor soldering and wires. The Nh600d has the holes for the ports and the board has the provisions for it. I thinking the function for an audio in and dc in are just turned off and and can get toggled on via the service menu but I have no clue how to translate the service menu right now (need to do more research). If anyone has any information on how do the upgrade or has done it or is willing to help figure stuff out, just drop a line. Thanks everyone and anyone!
