I had the same problem with my brand new rh10 - I bought it in sony style in las vegas - usa - in may 2005: after one song it stopped " buzzing " and sayng no disc!! I live in italy and I contacted italian sony center - very good guys!! - : after one month I had my unit perfectly repeared: ther was only new firmware to upload and I paid only shipping charge - for me 15 euros. Now its fantastic!! I dont know wher you live but the best is contact - like forum guys said to me!! - your local service ciao!!

Hi, when I opened the brand new box - buyed in las vegas sony center - and after charging battery in right voltage I introduced a md - recorded with my old sony mz r50 - and I got exceptional sound!!! after two songs it stopped and told mo wait for charging: then nothing more. I changed md, even with 1giga disk, but when click play there was a little blue disk with numbers of tracks 1,2,3......45,46 etc I wired on my pc: sonic stage viewed my rh10 but said no disk I pushe every switch for a week every night but noting now I've contacted my Italian sony center and guys said they try to investigate but I believe no good results: I've to wait at minimum for one month! meanwhile I'll use my old md - it's fantastic and sounds very well - Its a pity! otherwise thank you very much kenlui!!!!!!!!! ciao next time I buy something in vacation I'll try immediately!

you're lucky guy!!!!!! my new rh1o -usa - played 4 minutes and then stopped!!!! no disc - its true -; please wait - all night - ;and so on! I'd buy an Ipod: its much better, functional and never more sony: trash is waiting for rh10
