I'm a vocalist/guitarist and I'd like to play solo with some backing. It was suggested I find midi files/songs and edit (basically I want to remove guitar and vocals) and load those to a mini disc player. I would then connect the mini disc to my PA. Has anyone done something like this? Can anyone recommend a software? Is something like Cakewalk or Sonar overkill? Can anyone recommend a mini disc player for live professional use as I've described? Thanks!
