  1. Crazydane I think I've tried everything. I've tried it all from a clean install (as per the FAQ on uninstalling) as well. Here's what I've tried: 1. SS 3.0 from the CD (installation termination) 2. SS 3.1 from Sony 3. SS 3.1 from this website (I'm failry certain I've ran through all versions) I always get the same result: During the first install I get an "installation terminated" message, and if I try it again sometimes I can get SS fully installed. IF I do get it installed I get the "Couldn't start OpenMG secure module error". The closest I've got is when I installed an old version of OpenMG jukebox (which came with an older MD player, about a year or so ago). I did that and I got to the SS opening screen, upon which it promptly crashed. I'm wondering if perhaps this is due to any of my Windows services settings? (eg start-->run--> services.msc). I have my comp. "tweaked" to run the minimal amount of services. I've never had problems installing or running ANYTHING with the settings however and I've used them for years. If I can't crack this sucker by the weekend I'm afraid I'll have to take it back...darn shame too, I already returned the ipod for this one.
  2. LOL, well sorry about the first post, I should have included some specs. I'm running Win XP Pro 2.6 Ghz 1.0 G of RAM 80G Hard Drive. I have SP2 and all available updates. I followed the instructions on the FAQ and completely cleared out all previous versions of SonicStage. I've tried the 3.0 Version which came on my CD and the updated version from the SONY website. Same result each time (DUring the first install I get sn "installation terminated" message). Antivirus and Firewall are disabled and no programs are running. The interesting thing is that during installation I simply get an "Installation terminated" message when the program tries to install the "Sonic Stage Add-ons" section of the installation. If I run the program again, I can succesfully install. Once I install though I get the error message: "Cannot find OpenMG secure module, exiting sonic Stage" message. I attempted to search the forums with that phrase but got a million hits. I thought the MDAC repair tool was simply for a type of database problem? I'm sure I'll run into that if I manage to get the program running P.S. my fingers have been crossed.
  3. I hate for my first post to be a "bump", but I'm having the exact same problem. I've tried to install several versions of SonicStage, and all end up with the same "installation terminated" message. Sony has told me that the problem is with the computer, but I doubt it, I've never had any problems whatsoever. I'll try and keep everyone updated. SUggestoins are welcomed as always.
