It seems I can play older recorded MDs on the 2nd gen HiMD. Now, can an MD recorded on a 2nd gen HiMD be played back by an older (I believe it's a Sony) MD/CDRW deck in the deck's MD player? Sorry about the confusion. David

Actually the Sharp is dead. I just need to be able to play the MDs recorded on the Sharp. David

I want to get a Hi-MD recorder for analog recording of voice (singing), instruments and karaoke tracks from a mixing amp. The recordings will be uploaded both analog directly to a CDRW deck to burn cds and digitally to a pc. I also need the ability to play MDs recorded on an older Sharp MD recorder. My candidates are the RH10, RH910 or NH900. MP3 capabilities are not a consideration. Thanks, David
