  1. I don't mean to hack an encrypted format, only to rebuild the missed toc. The problem is, that the Hi-MD became unformatted because the outgoing battery. I want to replace the files in a new disc to make it readable from SonicStage or, if itsn't possible, to rebuild the format in the original MD for the same purpose. It's sayed it was possible in old SP times with toc-cloning (raintheory writes about) or newer with the german tricks for the RH1 model. Or, I have a NZ-900 in Hi-mode, can i make something with it or it's impossible? Thanks for your time and experience
  2. looking at the french forum, there's an interesting but older post at http://www.mdfr.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=11556 where carinou2005 write 21.12.2006, on a forum over missed disc and files : "it's said that the Toc-cloning don't work with HI-MD 1GB " That's not my case. Can then Toc-cloning be a solution? How exactly? It be write too that for the Sony MD there's a SONY RECORDING MEDIA CUSTOMER SERVICE EUROPE PO BOX 1 A-5081 ANIF AUTRICHE They're supposed to send it to Japan and better, there's mean to be a no-cost service... Do you know something about it? Best regards Edit at the end of the day : Sorry, now I founded this Carinou post and all subsequents in this forum, too: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showt...5&st=0& I noted it for anyone who had the same problem, because it's not simple to find the information about and I can yet understand that the problem I have is really a very common one, and hardly with a solution. I've read about this issue for 3 days and I think the clearest topic I've founded is in the german forum. http://www.minidiscforum.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15456 Then, the state of the art : 1. man can make something with TOC cloning but only in older systems without Hi-Md and in MD smaller als 1gb. a complete description is there: http://members.aol.com/BorusSylt/303.htm 2. it's possible to keep the TOC alive with another treatement but only with a RH1. look at http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showt...=17805&st=0 3. there's possible to send the MD to Sony for a try. It's said at no cost in Europe, ~50 u$s in the USA, where someone say they found the music files, see at http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=19912. Carinou send it to Austria but they don't find the music files, only the rest. I think, to find it, you don't need to send it so far. This type of file can be found with a decent recovery software (I've tried MagicRecoveryProfessional and it worked good, where both the reader nor the PC can't see anything because the MD isn't formatted). You can see the discussion at http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showt...5&st=0& Now, it's all, folks? or there's something that man can made before becoming an anti-Sony activist ? There's something that I've not understand? Thank for your ideas, it's great to have this sites. Tomorrow belong to me, today I go sleep.
  3. I thank you, Raintheory and A440, for your fast answer. There's nothing that man can make without Sony? I mean, I really don't like so a paranoiac entreprise with all DRM and encryptions and Internet permission, etc. that make all impossible to use, including our home recordings. If it's so you've right, it's so idiotic...
  4. Hi-MD format. The same format in both cases, the higher for Atrac-3. Literally: Standard MiniDisc in Hi-MD Format, 290 Mb
  5. I have a MZ-NH900 MD Walkman that I've used for 4 years. I've recorded a concert last week and then edited the marks. The TOC was right. The week-end I was making some analog, microphone home records in the same disc, when the battery go out of life. The MD automatically put himself in DataWrite mode, then, all messages dissapeared. I put the power adaptor in and the TOC was missed, with a "Format problem" message. I've tried to recovery the data with Magic Recovery, I can see the data there, but there is no more FAT. I tried to re-record the retrieved data in another MD but SonicStage don't recognize the format. I don't want to touch the original MD anymore, to keep the original sure, but I've made a lot of different trials (differents combinations of rewritings, format of another MD, etc.) whit my copied data and the problem is still insolvable. I've spend the last 3 hours reading about TOC in this forum and have learned a lot but i'm not sure I've really understand what's the matter with it and I don't find an answer. Can someone please help me? PD: Sorry for my english, I hope yours will be clearer :-)
