tried and failed, with MD simple burner and Sonic Stage writing to HiSP there is always a gap - sounds like a track break. Different place each time. I'm beginning to think my unit is faulty, as surely none of the audiophiles that worship MD would stand for it. S.

thanks, last night's try was through a hub - why would that make a difference? do you think something is intefering with the data transfer? e3.

I've searched the forums for hours but can't find an answer. I've just got a new Sony MZ-NH700. I've tried recording a few CDs direct with Simple Burner and mp3 files with Sonic Stage. I keep getting a barely inaudible "click" every 100 seconds or so on the recording when I play it back. Its not the minidisc jumping, as if you rewind the clicks are always in the same place. It sounds like the sound dies for 1/100th of a second or less. Have I got a faulty unit - or am I doing something wrong. I've tried re-installingt eh software onto a different (brand new) laptop and the resulst are the same. Any ideas? TIA, e3.
