That gave me an Idea! .... but anyone please feel free to shoot me down. Before I had the SS crash I was using version 2.3................what if all the files that are trapped, could still play with the openmg from that 2.3 version? I am willing to go back to 2.3 and find out if that will correct the files to play again, but some one will have to give me a link to download 2.3 cause I myself cannot find one. Thanks in advance to anyone! I also believe I follwed the uninstall process correctly - remove references in Registry, delete Sony Sub directories, uninstall through add/remove programs, but as previously posted I do believe more and more it was from codec packs corrupting registries, thats my story and Im sticking to it! Thanks for everyones help!

Anything later than SS 2.3 seemed to install fine on various machines I've got so I'm at a loss to understand why it's not installing.

Others Trapped! In the past 6 months ive spent countless hours amassing a 6000+ song library (in high quality sound) on sonic stage. I'm going to school and will be taking a new laptop with me. Is there any reasonable way of transfering that music to the new computer (none of the files claim to have any restrictions). It seems that im screwed but if anyone knows anything i can do short of burning my entire library to music cds and re-ripping the files, please let me know. If i am simply out of luck, any help with finding a new and good program to rip a large library to with good quality and compression and not run into the same problems if and when i ever have to change computers again would be greatly appreciated.

the files are in my hard drive...........................

I know it will not be long before someone creates a program that recovers files that have been blocked by OpenMG to replay on new versions of sonic stage! I have read several horror stories related to this nightmare, probably the worst one was the guy that lost his live recordings of his own band. If any one has any Ideas on how to recover these unplayable files please post here..................and I was wondering how many others with this problem are out there? I have contacted sony about this situation, but at this time they do not have any answers, or atleast they are not sharing them! All they are saying right now is "sorry".

Problem: SonicStage 3.1 Installation Issue
Recordgrooves replied to Recordgrooves's topic in Software
Turns out.....................I fixed the problem, my computer had to many registries, so I dumped them and reloaded the original ones my computer came with, I had the ones I wanted to keep that didnt come with the computer saved on a different hard drive. It only took me 4 hours! all that cause sonic stage 2.x did not have a equalizer and I wanted one for the player..............now I have not seen one on 3.1 yet either! -

my next thought...................... do you think it is possible that when I did a system restore................My "openmg" files were seperated from my "sonicstage" files and renamed when I did a system restore? maybe that would cause them to not recognize eachother.........causing my problems? -

I am an idiot but when I use the US link, it says.....We appreciate your interest in the Connect music store, but our store currently only works with Internet Explorer 5.5 and above. You don't seem to be using that particular browser at the moment, so, unfortunately, we'll have to part ways until we support the browser you're currently using or you upgrade to the latest version of Internet Explorer. Please click the Download link below if you'd like to upgrade now. I use Mozilla................Now what? -
Problem: SonicStage 3.1 Installation Issue
Recordgrooves replied to Recordgrooves's topic in Software
well I have a Vaio pcv-rz22g and it has a package that includes SonicStage that can download upgrades for it. The sony link for this is not working right now. I had used the link to download the full 3.1 version from these forums (I did not realize until after that I had to have the software) so it terminated its process during the installation. Then when I continued back to my 2.3 version the player loads with a black screen instead of the normal playlist options. Now, all I am trying to do is get it working like it was..................but I do not think that there is anything that can be done at this point? I am currently looking for the unistall/install link............ but have not found one. -
