  1. Success ! Ishiyoshi thanks for the OpenMG files. My problem appears to be with the fact that I have encryption on all directories, so even when I downloaded your file it was encrpted. I turned this off (right click folder) and reran and all now okay. Well 3.2 comes up !! Thanks for your help most appreciated. I still can't see my Hi-MD but I guess I can't have evrything !!
  2. Kurisu, T23 IBM Laptop 1 Gb mem Windows 2K SP4 Tommypeters, I have Admin rights. Do you know what 1607 message means ?
  3. Ishiyoshi, Thanks for the OpenMGSetup v.4.2.00.06070 I downloaded and unzipped it to a temporary folder. I ran the setup application and it begins to build the installshield wizard, but I get message :- 1607: Unable to install installshield scripting runtime. Any ideas ?
  4. A440, thanks. When I get 3.2 working I will see what happens and then if necc use MDAC repair then. To answer your question I am using the default (ie. what is prompted at the install) libraries.
  5. Ishiyoshi, No good I am afraid. Did exactly as you said. A fully clean uninstall, Registry, Add/Remove programs, deleted directories etc. 3.2 install completes successfully, I reboot and click on the SonicStage icon - Message comes up "Cannot find the OpenMG Secure Module , exiting SonicStage". Looked in add/remove and definitely did not install. OpenMg 3.4.01 does install okay from 2.0 CD, which I guess is okay for 3.1 but not now for 3.2. If there is a separate install for OpenMG Secure Module then that may do it. Thanks. A440 I have not got FFdshow The HI-MD is recognised through Explorer and I can transfer stuff to and from. Do When I do get 3.2 to work. do I still need to repair MDAC ? It looks a little dangerous.
  6. Hi, I have gone from SonicStage V2.0 to 3.1 with the problem that it does not recognise my Hi-MD MZ-NH1. So I was glad to see 3.2 available, so I downloaded and installed it "successfully". Unfortunately I now get message "To run Sonicstage, a newer version of OpenMG Secure Module is needed. Please uninstall and install it again". The version of OpenMG is 3.4.01 So I install again, also going through the Add/Remove programs and remove SonicStage & OpenMG, Registry etc. Then try again with the install of 3.2 and for that matter 3.1, but OpenMG does not get installed even though the install goes through okay. Only way to get anything up is to install 2.0 OpenMG from CD. Then of course I'm back to square 1, with 3.1 (but still not recognizing my MD) Any help greatly appreciated.
  7. Kyle, I think you are on to something there. I have eventually managed to install 3.1 but I think it is using the same OpenMG Secure Module from V2.0 which I had on CD. Connect comes up and knows about my Userid (e-mail address) but says I can't get in because i'm not on the right machine (well that's my interpretation). Looks like I have to re-rip and yes I will use Backup in future. I was silly to think that copying my .OMG files would be good enough !! Just got 2 things to worry about now :- 1. My Hi-MD is still not recogized - at a loss now do to de-installing / installing all various flavours and no joy. Hi-Md is recognized through Explorer and help me recover some 1Gb of photos just now. But SonicStage does not want to know. 2. Install 3.2 but I do not believe it will install OpenMG later version. About to try.
  8. Okay thanks for that. If I could get SS 3.2 to install then I can try the "back-up and restore" ? Here's my big problem now ... apart from "losing" my data. OPENMG does not want to install. ie) it is not in Add/Remove programs and when I click on the SonicStage 3.2 icon or Connect it says "Cannot find the OpenMG Secure Module" I do get a successful completion message and I reboot, but still no OpenMG. There is no log or message so I can't see what is wrong. I have tried various atempts, even tried the German version of 3.1 first and if I go back to 2.0 (on CD) OpenMG does install, but this is the wrong version for 3.2 I have installed so many different Software packages in my life, but I have never had so many problems than with SonicStage. If I ever do get OpenMG to install, then I'll probably be back with it not recognising my Hi MD NZ-MH1 I believe I follwed the uninstall process correctly - remove references in Registry, delete Sony Sub directories, uninstall through add/remove programs. IBM T23 1Gb MS Windows 2000 SP4 (brand new build due to loosing my original hard drive) Help ! Please !
  9. I have just had the misfortune of loosing my hard drive and I have had to rebuild my Laptop. I had originally copied my Sonicstage .omg files to an external disk (thinking I wanted contingency - in case the worst happened - which it did !). I installed SonicStage 3.1 and it seems to work okay apart from it does not recognise my NZ-MH1 (but that's another forum) So I point SonicStage to my backed up files and get message "There is invalid rights management information in the OpenMG content". It looks as though it thinks I am another User. Is there anyway around this ?
