Thanks Stuge, yeah I ended up doing that (after backing up the OMGAUDIO folder to my PC incase anything went wrong) and now everything is cool, I've re-transferred my tunes and all is well cheers, James

Hi all, I got my NW-A1000 about a month ago and I really love it I loaded up the supplied Connect software on my Windows XP PC, but very quickly learned how badly it sucked, even with the Artist Link option turned off So I switched to using Sonic Stage 3.4 which has been fine for the meantime, but it's been bugging me that the artist link and intelligent shuffle options weren't supported. So I was really chuffed when I saw that a newer, slicker, working version of the Connect software has been released I have dowloaded and installed V1.0.04.16100 and after a bit of chugging and whirring while it converted the existing database all seems well. The progam now starts quickly and seems a lot more responsive. However (there had to be a catch didn't there....) when I plug my NW-A1000 into the PC with Connect player running I get the following message: Warning The portable device failed to initialize and can not be used Error code: 82040307 Does anyone know what this means and how I can get connect to talk to my device properly? Google brings up no mention of such an error. Do I need to wipe all the songs off I put on using Sonic Stage and start again from scratch? I hope not.... thanks in advance, James
