Deleting tracks from NW-A3000 and SonicStage in one operation
djmalice replied to martybartfast's question in Audio
is there any way of deleting a track on the walkman without having to use the crappy software -
artist link managed to relate a trance track to Elton John - Rocket Man
-
mine was slightly wobbly and now cant be moved unless i push it with my finger nail. Great quality Sony
-
yeh i'd like this too, the artist link is such a gimmick, the worst feature ever to ever be featured on any electronic product
-
Hi guys, is transferring music files to the walkman as 352kb atrac files from 192 to 320kb mp3 files doing anything to the audio quality of those files? I understand usually cross format encoding usually always results in lessening the quality

oh all you forgot; -shoddy software - shoddy initial firmware

Hi Tom, Superb reply, shame the moderator wasnt eloquent or informed enough to reply like you. There was no nokia vs sony debate at all, all i merely said was that i dont rate the quality of my sony mp3 walkman at all and that i think my nokia phone provides just as good sound. The nokia vs sony thing was started up by the moderator who like all geeks tried to mock my opinion since he is a mod and therefore knows all. My point was mainly that people have a strange assumption that because it says Sony it must be good, fact is Sony are far from the best in most of what they do- especially audio equipment. Though my opinion did cost me a warning which got me shivering in my boots cheers Tom

Hi Giki, people are forgetting sound quality is subjective. Yeah solid fact presents far greater frequency responses from any Sony product however better specs doesnt mean better performance for everybody. for example in music production a hell of a lot of producers purposely use old equipment which is substandard compared to the latest equipment however people love the warm sound of the older equipment. And to the moderator ascariss, how unfortunate you can't have a debate with somebody despite being a moderator though anybody who uses forums knows this tends to be norm with overeager moderators. And thank you to Giki for technically and eloquently proving my opinion wrong, though as i said it is a subjective subject matter. and also can i add Sony is barely the 'ferarri' of audiophile equipment. And it would be rather interesting to see the technical audio data for Nokia N91 as we're all (including myself) assuming that it is technically inferior to Sony mp3 products.

People like you annoy me very much. You mock what you don't know and think what you do know is the ultimate perfection. Are you able to know which nokia handset i use and which audio components it utilises? I doubt it, so for now keep you're schoolboy mocking to yourself

my problems are incredibly slow and unreliable software and firmware. SonicStage crashed on me at least 15 times, my pc gets all sorts of scanning tests and tuning every night for music production purposes so my system can not to be to blame. I got my Sony NWA1000 back from repair 4 days ago and went back straight to using my Nokia as my mp3 player, the sound quality on it is in fact far more superior (and yes i do use audiophile quality earphones). Sony use substandard parts and paint them over with superb looking bodywork.

I'd just like to announce rather self obsessively that i will be selling my Sony NWA1000 and will never again purchase a single Sony product again. The Sony NWA1000 and all the other similar products are substandard and supplied with software that is below substandard. Sony have successfully conned and let down millions of loyal fans and have single handedly allowed the iPod to lead the market. I feel so let down, many features sony bragged about are half truths. The artist link function doesnt work to the level to which can be deemed 'working'- in fact when i first bought my NWA1000 i was told that the feature wasnt supported. I wont bother to waste further time talking about the disgraceful software Sony have given us, to use it is to know how awful it is. Thanks to all you users here and the website as you've made the experience that bit more bearable and i hope that most of you follow suit because the fact is Sony will never change until they start to notice a considerable loss in earnings for their personal audio department. Regards
