Hi, I've recently picked up a cheap MZ-N Type R which came without a Charger Cradle and SUB Net Cable. I've searched around a bit but can't find what I'm looking for. I'm not sure this model came with these items or not. Some may, some may not is what I seem to come up with. So what's the story with the Sony MD Net Cables, are they sold anywhere? What do you actually search for, the technical name? And do spare cradles for different models exit anywhere? My local Sony Shop had Nada. Any help would be much appreciated.

I meant to add, when uninstalling the openMG Secure Module I had an error saying detected earlier version of Simple Burner at which point the system reboots. I wonder if I am removing everything. I couldn't find any previous version. I deleted Temp files though.

SP2 disc is current (Windows XP Home disc SP1 included) I tried to reinstall but I still have the 'Dwwin.exe DLL Initialization Failed' shutdown error. Problem I notice uninstalling openMG Secure Module. SSScsiSV is not showing up in event viewer now though. The above error message does not occur with SS uninstalled. 7 out of 10 times if I exit Simple Burner on taskbar I don't get message at shut down either. Program is otherwise functioning without a problem.

XP SP1+2 I've been getting a 'Dwwin.exe DLL Initialization Failed' error ('application failed to initialize because windows station is shutting down') everytime I shut down for a couple of weeks now. Just seem to appear for no apparent reason. Event Viewer Shows > 'The description for Event ID ( 1 ) in Source ( SSScsiSV ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag ...etc etc' I was using SS3.2 at the time so I tried upgrading to SS3.3 but this didn't solve the problem. Used full uninstall procedure. I could disable Dr Watson which stops the problem but I prefer this left on. As SSScsiSV is a SS process I tried exiting Simple Burner on taskbar before shutting down. With this shut off the error message dosen't occur. (and SSScsiSV does not show in Event Viewer as error) Is there a fix or a missing DLL I might need to clear up this problem properly? SS3.3 seems to work okay otherwise.

Hi Kurisu thanks but everything's under control. I have established that wav conversion tool is only for less than ss3.2. I got wrong end of stick when read your 'A Guide To Hi-MD Uploading'. Just recently bought one of those mz-nh900's from minidiscAustralia. Great buy, great recorder, well pleased. So I went to 'A Guide To Hi-MD Uploading' for run down on recording. The remaining question, (on connect player download) is another topic as you say, (but since I'm here) I did find out it's on site here as an add-in for the ss3.2 and ss3.3 Full Installers which don't have it included. Also off-topic ...but thanks MDCF for the ss3.3 FullInstaller ...much appreciated!

I have ss3.2 More info... Just to check ...the wav conversion tool is only needed for ss2.xx Is that correct? ( from ss3.0 on the conv tool is inbuilt?) (I downloaded this from the wav conv link on Kurisu's 'A Guide To Hi-MD Uploading' page by the way) But as you say I can use ss3.2 anyway. Sony Connect I downloaded from http://musicstore.connect.com/mb_us/IESignup.flow I presumed it was a media player for buying music online. But the installer places desktop icon saying 'Sony MP3 Conversion Tool' which links back to the online sony connect download. So I'm none the wiser there.

Ok ..thanks for pointing that out . But the sony connect player/mp3 conversion tool has the same problem. Back tracking, I see you're supposed to log on as administrator or power user for these standalone programs(?). When I downloaded the sony connect player it gave me the mp3 conversion tool shortcut on the desktop. As I say, it won't lauch either. I'm still confused.

Can someone explain for me, I can't find the answer for looking. I downloaded the wav conversion tool from the link on your 'uploading with hi-md' page and installed it. I closed Simple burner on task bar (sonic stage 3.2 is installed, there is no icon on the task bar to exit ss3.2) and when I try to open wav conv tool icon on desktop it directs me to the Sony Connect player link online. Is there somewhere I'm supposed to turn off ss3.2 as well? ps: haven't downloaded ss3.3 yet. (I'm hoping there might be a standalone download at some point like for 3.2!!?)

A440 The card is not usb, basically everything else but. My MZ-NF810 is connected via MotherBrd port. I did think when I got that error I should've installed ss3.2 2nd ...especially with creative software, it is damn grabby I totally agree. Between the two of em I don't expect that to be the end of it somehow. A ss3.2 reinstall seems to have everything in order now. I did get this error after uninstalling and rebooting "A Fatal error has occured. Reboot your computer to try and fix the problem. If rebooting does not correct the problem reinstall software". I did this, rebooted to see. Same error. Carried on to reinstall ss3.2. Fine. Thanks

Volta Thanks for the reply. Bit of a delay getting back to U ...sorry. Real good to see there is a standalone for ss3.2. Always felt bound by the net download. This way it's easier to back up the exe and the fear of cut out half way through wasting good time (and again). Jumping from ss1.5 to here is strange, not knowing the outline features of previous versions. The ss3.2 download and install went off without a hitch. Imported 3 cd's, titled in CDDB fine. Transfer to net md, fine. Next day I installed a Creative Audigy zs Platinuim pro ext. hub and soundcard. No problems. Then later I fire up ss3.2 to test import cd post soundcard install. I get a 'COM Error 0x80004003' using CDDB. I shut down program and after closing I get this error ... omgjbox.exe - application error 'The instruction at 0x07aa3504 referenced memory at 0x07e236a0. The memory could not be 'read''. Click okay to terminate program. A similar error in Simple Burner(ss3.2 included) ... 'Accessing CDDB : mdrcreg.exe' 'Instruction at ..ditto' This does not happen opening and closing ss3.2 or SB. Only happens if connection is active and cd is put in drive. CDDB is then activated. No other CDDB or Freedb based software has this error connecting to the database. (Winamp, Nero6, dBpoweramp, Musicmatch) Intel P4 CPU, Intel mainboard. 1G Memory No Codec packs (that I'm aware of) though I have individual codecs in various places. AVG Anti-virus, ZoneAlarm Pro. Sony MZ-NF810 No other problems. (and ss3.2 looks like a pretty good package this time) ...suitably impressed. (except for the above errors). Can they be solved?

XP Sp2 and updates p4 cpu After getting a blue screen with win nmd and ss1.5 I uninstalled it as per forum instructions and repair installed xp. Downloaded 3.1 installer but it cuts out everytime at about 4.7MB into the sonicstage part of installation. Installs the registering bit, the openmg bits and then nada. Download terminated. What is it with this software it doesn't like about my pc landscape?? Everything else is fine. Do I have to reformat just to keep sonic stage happy? Before you say install 3.2, why is that going to be any different? There must be a reason for this cut out but I can't see any help for it anywhere.
