  1. Thanks for the tip. I really thought the 600D was a goner. The track was sticking out and the metal glides were bent. I bent them back, somehow forced the track back into the unit using a letter opener, and it seems to work perfectly. These are pretty durable units. No upgrade afterall...
  2. Help me decide! I’ve been using my 600D for a while now, obviously only as a music player since I can only download. Well, it just went flying out of my hands yesterday and is busted pretty badly. I’m looking to upgrade to something with a line in to record and preserve old cassette tapes I have that just can’t be found anymore, anywhere, in any format. It seems to boil down to this: I really like using AA batteries. I really like the 5-line display with more shown characters on the RH910. So, I’m stuck between the NH700 or 800 and the 910. If I decide that using AA batteries are not a total must, then the NH900 gets thrown in the mix, which I read is a favorite of many. My questions are this: Would it be absurd, or even possible, given durability and extra size to use just the external battery pack on the 910? I just don’t see myself remembering to constantly recharge the internal battery. I have no shortage of AA batteries. I can’t find pictures of the unit with the external pack attached. Also, I’ve read, but now can’t find reference, that there were problems with splitting then uploading tracks from the RH910. Is this still an issue with SS 3.4? What’s the average lifetime of the rechargeable batteries for the RH910 and NH900? Are replacements hard to come by? A Froogle search didn’t yield many results. I have no need or desire for a remote. (I don’t care much about the radio on the NFH800.) Can the 700/800/900 be operated without the remote by just plugging the headphones into the remote jack? Finally, I’d probably buy from minidisco. Are there any issues with their 700/800/900 models being from Australia? Thanks!
