  1. yeah. reconverting my mp3 collection seems to be working. I just wish I didn't have to do it. I have another 12 hours to go....thanks for the help.
  2. thanks for the reply leon, yeah, i uninstalled all things sony and cleaned up the registry and deleted all the folders ( i should have been more clear when i said clean uninstall ) the weird thing is that i use to have 3.1 installed and when i upgraded to 3.2, i had no problems. plus, finding sonicstage 3.1 is pretty hard. all the music i obtained online through BT. i never had any problems till now.
  3. this is the exact message Cannot convert the specified track. SonicStage does not support the file format of the track or the track is protected by copyright. i've also noticed that the songs that can't transfer are songs i've previously transfered to my MD using sonicstage 3.2. Did i miss clearing the OMG library? were they altered some how cause i might have plugged the md into a different port?
  4. I recently moved and had to re-setup my computer. Now, for some odd reason, mp3s that I use to be able to convert and transfer to my Hi-MD are now unable to be transfered to my MZ-NH1 ( i.e. foo fighters best of you ) THe message says that Sonicstage 3.2 doesn't recognize my type of file ( mp3, which seems not to be the problem ) or that the file is protected by copyrights ( which has never happened before, i've transfered it to my MZ-NH1 many times before i moved ). Anyone experience this before? specs : 1. windows xp service pack 2 on a 2.4 athlon xp computer i built myself with 512 mb of ram and USB 2.0 2. I uninstalled all my sony programs following the recommendations of this site, i was using Sonicstage 3.2 and SB 2.0 3. i have no codec packs installed 4. I use a Song Mz-NH1 5. I have kiky ps2 controller adapter, my intellimouse and an intel webcam on my other 3 USB ports. oh yes, i also installed a "copy" of madden 2006. I also tried installing the non internet version of SS3.2 ( the one that is now available on the d/ls page ) after a clean uninstall but it wouldn't recognize my MD player. so i'm stuck using the internet based version Like i said, i never had problems till recently and it's really annoying. I love my MD player but I hate sony software. please help
  5. ok. problem solved. how? i don't know. this morning it just asked me to register CDDB. I tried doing that but it wouldn't let me. now it will. strange. it works now
  6. I clean uninstalled all my codecs and SS 3.2 and SB 2.0. Using CDDB won't register my CDs while SS 3.2 will.
  7. I uninstalled the pack and tried to reinstall SB 2.0.4 and nothing happened. It still has the same problems as I can't get CDDB to label my tracks. I end up with untitled groups with numbered tracks. Oh also, the CD will play but I won't get any sound while trying to play it using SB. Just incase, I'm using XP with the 2nd service pack. I'm thinking maybe i didn't correctly remove FFDshow. I just uninstalled the pack it came in and searched around through the registry to remove anything that was left.
  8. Sorry, about that. I actually thought i was posting by the rules. I'll be more specific. I reinstalled and uninstalled and eventually settled with SS 3.2. I do however, have a bunch of random codecs that I installed using the Matroska 1.1.1 lite pack. It's listed at this address. Matroska 1.1.1 pack Sorry, I didn't actually think listing the codecs i had installed was necessary. Either way, sonicstage 3.2 works fine. It recognizes my CD and I'm ripping CDs to my MZ-NH1 by turning the CDs into OMG and then transfering them ( which is quite slow ). I tested my CD rom drive and I registered with CDDB ( or at least i think i did by pressing the "registration" button. I just uninstalled the Matroska Pack, as it appears that it causes problems do to FFDshow. Hopefully this will work. It's strange because I had this codec pack installed earlier and i was problem free.
  9. Thanks for the replies. I already have installed SonicStage 3.2 and I just finished cleaning up the registry. Then i tried to reinstall Simple Burner. Nothings working. In case you don't understand my problem here it is : 1. i had a problem with sonicstage 3.1. I uninstalled all sony MD related software ( SS 3.1 and SB) 2. I reinstalled Sonicstage 3.2. 3. I tried to reinstall SB. The software starts up, but all my cds remain unrecognized and can't be transfered to my MZ-NH1. i'm going to try to uninstall everything again and do this one more time. I think i'm going to try installing the 3.1 version of SonicStage. thanks a lot. please let me know if you have anymore ideas.
  10. Hi, I'm having problems with Simple Burner. I recently had to uninstall my copy of SonicStage ( i think it was 3.1 ) and Simple Burner because the software would freeze and crash after only 37% of an mp3 was converted. I d/led the copy of SImple Burner 2.0 and now I can't upload CDs to my NH1. Strangely enough, the CD isn't labeled by Gracenote. Nothing happens, it's weird.I remember you had to properly uninstall the old versions of OpenMG and SonicStage by going into the registry ( i haven't done that yet because i can't remember how or if it's necessary ) . I pretty much uninstalled the my old copy of Sonicstage using add/remove in the control panel. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? thanks.
