The CPU is a VIA x86 and the speed is 651mhz. I appreciate your help.

How would I find out? I know the CPU speed will be slow, but dont know where to find the details. Also it takes ages recording to a MD and sometimes the recordings have got hissing/crackling noises on them. Should have stuck to cassettes!!

Not sure about itunes, media player ok. I've got Windows 200 pro. System is very old and not much space on hard drive.

I'm pretty sure its not the CD's - sometimes no tracks get imported, other times its before the first one. I'll try upgrading. Cheers

Hope someone can help....It takes hours to import a CD and very often I get an error msg saysing "Cannot Read this CD". It has happened on loads of different CD's and in two CD drives. Has anyone any idea why this is happening and what I can do to speed it up? I've got SS 3.1 Thanks
