I had the same problem and finally figured things out: Simpleburner (as well as Sonic Stage) relies on the Windows Auto Play feature to detect an audio CD. I had diabled autoplay (as one should do) and had the sample problem as described in the first post. After reactivating autplay for cdroms via the registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdrom, "AutoRun"=dword:00000001) simpleburner works fine - only that I now have the unwanted autoplay Thomas
