  1. when my nwa gets crazy I format it via partition magic (it is fat32 format) then while it is still connected I just install firmware... I never had magnetic problems though... but still, if your player is visible when you connect it to your pc, you should try formating it...
  2. format the unit, re-install the firmware... and it will work like charm... although you will loose all the music on it...
  3. and if this come true... apple will rule the world: http://guides.macrumors.com/Gallery_of_Video_iPod_Mockups http://www.rainydaymagazine.com/RDM2006/Ge...idPodMockUp.htm and it looks like it is
  4. it will be very hard for Sony to beat iPod. why?? I was in the shop 3 weeks ago and I choose a1000 instead of iPod. And it wasn't because of money but because I liked it more... BUT SHAME ON YOU SONY, I am so pissssed because after a 3 weeks I have so much dust under the front cover and back one cracking more and more. for 200 Euro... well it is lame to make such a thing. If want to clean it I have to open it and loose warranty, If I send it to be cleaned... phuh... I bought it to listen it not to clean it every 3-4 weeks... And this back cover thing... I think this is the only player with that problem... SHAME So better firmware is useless when hardware is junk.

    New A3000 Screen ?

maybe to write to sony to make a decent player...
  6. heheh, great tip for compiling... thanks..
  7. Maybe this could be useful. First one: To make possible to select all songs I want in the compilation, and activate a compilation attribute by a single click. It is a bit pain in the you know what to click-properties on every song I want to put in the compilation...
  8. hmh, I have few files in mp3, 192kbps, and every time, no matter what, when I transfer them to a1000 via ss4 they magically become 320kbps. I checked all possible transfer options, and no clue I find On the other hand, other grouof 192kbs files are normally transfered and still the're 192kbps. Anyone experienced something similar?? oh, stupid me... those files are variable bit-rate in range 192-320 and ss4 sees them like 320kbps ones... however, someone may find this useful, hopefully...
  9. in fact I found all graphic stuff inside of C:\Program Files\Sony\SonicStage\Data\Image, and everything is editable in Photoshop. Of course patience and time is required... I changed some colors in few minutes
  10. I just did the connect player uninstall and fresh sonicStage install [us ver. dwnload] and after I transfered some music, adjusted some options and I must say this release is a +++ for SONY, and finally, they deserve respect for their effort. For now, everything works smooth'n'intuitive The only thing I dis-like is not so nice [for me] interface skin, but that isn't that important. What counts is it works good. Well done SONY

    CP is mad

? I don't quite understand the exact problem you have?. I have pretty straightforward workflow with my a1000 and cp. It is slow and annoying but in general it works. I discovered that it's much more responsive when "artist link in bckground" service is disabled [in fact it can freeze the cp very often] so, the workflow: -connect the a1000 -start cp -wait -click the transfer to device button -use add button or just drag'n'drop from the library, or use add file/directory -wait and enjoy :-) Every time I did this everything was fine. Specialy when "artist link" thingy is disabled...
  12. huh, that will be super-cool I hope. 2 more days:-) this connect is sooo user un-friendly dispite all positive energy I have. When I see a friend just copy-paste mp3s to his iRiver hd I am a bit you know....
  13. thanks for welcome. and of course it would be better to improve audio features and connect software, but it would be cool to have few little features in it like calendar and stuff... personally I don't like mobile phones, and maybe that is a reason why I wish to have calendar and maybe address book on music gadget
  14. also they can add a small calendar/reminder option with user-adjustable alarm melody, if I am hanging with my walkman allmost all day long I'd be happy to have him reminding me to do stuff from time to time... oh, and before that to put a date/time option so this above can be possible.
