    MD-->PC on SS3.2

    hello! thanks for letting me play! that link to one of kyles solutions unfortunately doesnt seem to address what we have all been wasting time on.... it seems that SB doesnt like SS, and SS will never be able to import tracks burnt to MD using SS. right. got that. but this whole thing that ghostdog is talking about is doing my nut in....it SHOULD do it! i got to that same stage where SS asks you if you want to leave the tracks on the MD after transfer. When i said yes, there was no transfer, but when i said "bugger it, no..", all it did was delete my tracks and 'pretended' to transfer them to SS library....BUT THEYRE NOT %$^&* THERE. i know that the big thing with SS3.2 is that it is really good for live recording transfers (gotta be happy with that...just a few little bugs left...), but i wiould still like to be able to swap my tunes between discs without having to keep everything in the library as well. is that too much to ask? i will send two of my best lacy G's to anyone who can sort this out for me! Zoe.

    MD-->PC on SS3.2

    see? its little things like that make life very confusing for us technological ignoramuses. now that i know i look forward to a much more harmonious relationship with my little MD. BUT...can any of you tell me why my tracks don't appear in the SS library when i import them from MD? (see my post below...where do they go? why is it pretending? is un- and re-install AGAIN the only option? and did you guys just answer ghost-dog 'cos his name is cooler than mine?
  3. Hello, after many days spent trying many things, updating windows (XP pro service pack 3) and reinstalling SS3.2 according to the instructions given in the forum here, I have exhausted all my meagre computer fiddling skills and been beaten into babbling submission by sony. But maybe there is hope, and thats why i have posted this question... the problem is: when trying to transfer tracks from my Hi-MD to My Library the program asks me first if i want to delete the tracks from the MD. If i say no, there is a brief flash of activity, and then nothing...no transfer. If i say yes, the program basically pretends to transfer the tracks, showing activity (briefly) on the little bar at the top, and telling me that they have been transferred, BUT - no new albums or tracks appear in My Library (but they are gone from the MD). This happens even with tracks that I have transferred to MD with this new version of SS (but tracks recorded by analogue input transfer fine), but some of the older tracks i have on Hi-MD will not be transferred either, on the grounds that they have been recorded from another computer, which is bollocks. Is it me? did i miss something in the small print of the manual? or is it all this stupid copyright software? something else? please help me before the neighbors call the police again.... Z.
