ok, Valder, as far as I'm concerned, I'd be glad to comply ;-) Sorry for the OT but I'm a bit worried: why do I have a warn scale under my name? It wasn't there this morning as far as I remember. Anything wrong?

Good Idea. Please count me in also. International is fine. I would prefer HI-SP. Maybe someone interested in an international exchange would like a german language compilation (I mean artists from Germany, Austria, Switzerland)? How much time would one have to make such a compilation?

Good morning! Thanks for the tip concerning the "language mode". I will try that out. That might be useful to listen to the radio programs I recorded. It is something along the line I was looking for. Because sometimes I like to switch discs inbetween and then I have to search where I broke off when I switch back. That's why I wanted to be able to set a track mark. By the way, I have tried the the 38EL with my NH600 and all functions of the remote are available like titling, erasing and so on. So my NH600 may come in very handy again ;-) Thanks again. Phoenix

Hi Rei, thanks for your reply. I just received my new 38EL and am a little disappointed that it has no dedicated button to set a track mark. The remote control of my former MD-Player had that and I thought, I had read somewhere in the internet that this remote control had this also. I can't find the place where I read this anymore so I guess it was wishfull thinking on my part. I also checked the online manual of NH900 and compared it to my possibilites. I have a RH910 and a RH10. With both I can only use the remote to release or set groups and erase tracks or groups. Nothing else. No titling possible. But I really only wanted to be able to make a track mark without having to nestle the unit out of its pouch. That doesn't seem to be possible? I already had a MC33L. I wonder if there is any other difference between the two remote controls besides the backlight on the 38EL (which will no doubt come in handy).Oh, I don't see any indication of "Hi-MD" on the display either. But at least I found out this way that so far I hadn't been using all the possibilities the MC33L had to offer. So I lost some and won some ;-) Phoenix

Hi, I have a question concerning the remote RM-MC38EL which is described as "supplied w/ MZ-NH900 (NA). Same features as the 33EL, with the addition to a Hi-MD input on the LCD." *The MC38EL is 100% compatible with all 1st and 2nd generation HiMD units. Could someone pls. explain what is meant by "with the addition to a Hi-MD input on the LCD"? I am wondering whether it is possible to set tracks with this remote? Thanks. Phoenix

You know, I was wondering about that already myself ;-) I didn't intend to bring the topic up because it's such a subjective experience and just to be appreciative of it. But this thread tempted me to do otherwise. I had already been following the discussions for a while before I decided to get the nh600 as a budget model. I use it mainly to record radio shows. I live in Germany and when I saw the RH910 advertised in German internet shops I "jumped" at the chance because the model wasn't officially foreseen for our market. This time it wasn't mainly a budget decision. I had read a lot about the scratchable surface of the RH10, the difficulty to read the oled screen in bright sunlight and thought that the somewhat longer durability of the battery would be an advantage too and had expected a sound improvement in comparison to the NH600. Then I got nervous because of alle the discussions of the demise of HI-MD so I decided to get another unit, this time a RH10 for the sake of variation. I am for sure the only one to get a RH10 as a reserve for the RH910 ;-) I wasn't expecting more than the OLED and was really debating with myself whether I was really being foolish. But when the RH10 arrived and I had tried it out I was really excelerated because it exceeded my expectations. The RH-910 sounds just like the descriptions of the 2 Generation. I have never heard a NH900 or NH1 live but I think my RH10 sounds like what I would have expected from them. Strange? Definitely purely speculative. Just one very happy customer now ;-)

I think I have made a strange observation for myself: Last year I bought a NH600 and was happy. A few months ago I bought a RH910 and was even happier: sound quality had increased. I have just bought a RH10 and thought the technique inside was the same as the RH910 but it sounds even better, considerably "fuller". How can that be? Needless to say I am ever more happy ;-) Phoenix

Hello, I've been reading along for at least two years now. I recently bought a rh910 and am very happy with it. Might sound crazy but I also bought a sony cd player in parallel because in the long run and for use at home cd's are the cheaper medium. It took me a while to find the right earphones. But now I am extremely satisfied with my setup und would really miss this community. It's just a whim and might be to far fetched: could Sony's dismissal of the MD have anything to do with the fact that Atrac is not supposed to be supported any longer in a few years? I mean the recordings are either in PCM and Atrac. Could Sony feel forced to support Atrac if they continue to sell MD players/recorders that work with this format? Ok, so thanks & take care then...
