I am having a similar problem, have you tried downloading ".omg" files, these downlaod just fine for me and play as normal, it's just mp3 files that give the problem you describe. This would mean that there is nothing wrong with the recording block and that the problem is something else entirely. Please let me know if you find a solution.

My problem is as follows. I import mp3 files from my hard drive to sonicstage drive. These are converted to Sony format (atrac ?). These files are then transferred to my minidisc however they will not play. They have a length of 00.00 which tells me they are not actually being transferred properly at all. OMG files transfer and play as normal. When I try to play them they skip quickly through. Don't think it's a problem with the files as I have tried lots of them and they all play just fine in sonicstage as well. Please Help !!
