oh this update doesn't work with 8.2? I thought it would... yeah, if that's the case, it's a shame.
-
Content Transfer 1.2 has been available on esupport.sony.com since 8/31/09. It includes following updates: Adds video file conversion function Note: This function is available only for Walkman
-
I forgot where I read about it... but... I read from this or other blog that was quoting Apple that they are aware of other Media Players usage of songs purchased through itune. Obviously, they are, through firmware, preventing use of other software, e.g. Content Transfer, not allowing easy transfer of songs to non-ipod products, i.e. Walkman. Obviously, its their interest to lock up, not through DRM but in similar manner (at least giving some trouble), ipod users from leaving them for Walkman or other audio players. To be honest, this attitude is no different from using DRM on songs.

I believe he is referring to a new Walkman, possibly new A series. My guess is that it'll be a news about the player, not the release date. I don't regret purchasing X series though. As for me, this player is really great for audio device (I personally don't watch video on the go). The sound is less digital, more smoothness in sound, compared to previous Walkman.

Oh ok. You can transfer AAC or MP3 files from PS3 without any problem (that includes transferring Album art). PS3 recognizes Walkman as Walkman not simply as USB device. So it supports Walkman.
-
After installing supplied CD for WMP 11 it recognizes AAC files but it can't be used for playlist? (I use PS3 to manage my AAC files and WMP 11 for L-PCM)

I don't use content transfer so I can't answer that part of question. But, I can tell you that you don't have to worry about high resolution album art displaying properly by Walkman X. Just to help you decide if Walkman X is the device for you or other devices... Walkman X is great for music playback with superb sound at high volume (S-master digital Amp), especially with large headphones, with no distortion, Noise-Canceling function, great video playback and youtube videos but for other apps or internet browsing is not good as iPod touch. If you are serious about music sound quality and videos with nice OLED, then I strongly suggest Walkman X but if you are more into other side things then I say ipod touch.

Windows Media Player 11 (WMP 11) and Winamp are other software you can try. Not quite sure whether Media Go works with the X series yet. It also works with Napster and Rhapsody's software.

You can try NWU-BCR5 but not NWU-BCR3. They look the same but the width of the slot for the player is not wide enough on NWU-BCR3. https://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores...552921665369128 It's price is high but it comes with a charger, which can be used with the cradle or can be used separately for traveling.

Lately, I have noticed few topics that do not belong in this forum. It is my belief that this forum is not for some random advertisements. I hope those topics are going to be deleted by the topic starter or by the forum manager.

for those who can't read Japanese to download 3 new wallpapers, click "ダウンロードする" under each wallpaper.

I just visited JP Sony site and noticed that they have uploaded some new background for Walkman X series. This may or may not be news to many of you but anyway here is the link for those who have not seen it. http://www.sony.jp/walkman/special/x_wallpaper/ The Sony logo wallpaper looks really nice.

It seems like SonyEricsson has some strong line-up for later this year, Q4 2009. Especially, Satio (aka Idou) and Aino. Apparently both models are going to be shipped with charging cradle and 8GB MicroSD, and for Aino w/ bluetooth receiver w/ 3.5mm jack. Also, Aino will be able to work as a remote for the Playstation 3 and view videos. http://semcblog.com/2009/05/28/the-new-ain...our-fingertips/ http://semcblog.com/2009/05/28/sony-ericss...limited-device/

Apparently, there is a new site under construction. http://www.sonyericsson.com/mine/

Haha. I was just about to write what you just did. "Pre-sale item available on or about 06/20/2009. We will email you when your product ships." Ahhhh

I just love how sonystyle (US site) is so slow at displaying any new products...
-
I don't think it's possible to change the Walkman's software version by installing the US firmware.
-
I was hoping firmware upgrade to reset the battery status If resetting the device does not work... I suggest sending your Walkman to Sony, if it really bothers you... Sorry

I wash my ear buds after I take them off from the headphones. I have washed them with soap w/ water and they just same as new. Just becareful from losing ear buds from your sink. Plus, Sony sells ear buds I believe. They just don't sell one for MDR-EX700 ear buds...

The link I posted is for the US model. To update firmware from 1.10 to 1.11, first download the file to your desktop. Then connect NWZ-S738F to your PC. Once it's connected don't run any program. Then just run the firmware update file you downloaded on your desktop (DO NOT transfer the file you downloaded to your Walkman). The program will run on your PC and update your Walkman that is conneceted to your PC. About the body of NWZ-S730 series, I am not sure but it is a metal core w/ coating of somesort for its color. It feels like SE W890i phone though, which people say it's metal.

Hello!!! I didn't know your eye was so scary...

It seems like you found the link: http://walkman.update.sony.net/fw/pc/ZS730...S730F_V1_11.exe Anyhow, try installing v.1.11 first then if it does not work try resetting. It's possible to scratch the device (even metal scratches so...) so just don't miss the hole
-
I don't have that issue with my NWZ-S738F. But try installing firmware v.1.11. I have provided correct link on this forum.

You can probably use the Content Transfer. One real down side of current WMP is that it only supports WAV, MP3 and worst codec of all, WMA. If you have PS3, you can use that to manage music, which I am very fond of. Who knows, Sony might release drag-n-drop with SonicStage V, allowing users to choose.
