  1. Now that I think about it, I can see where the top photo in my original post could show the same player as the bottom photo. I guess it's just the light reflecting off of the top photo that makes it look silver, however the displays still do look somewhat different to me. Either way, I'll search through the forums for more info. Thanks!
  2. Thanks for the reply, but I'm still unsure of whether the standard US version is the silver version or the black version, and if the US version(s) have the black on gray display (as shown in the photo of the silver unit) or a blue on black display (as shonw in the photo of the black unit).
  3. While checking prices for the MZ-RH10, I've come upon two different display types/colors. The unit pictured at sonystyle.com, for example, has what appears to be a standard LCD display.... ...while the unit at retailers like minidisco.com appears to have a blue display. Minidisco.com refers to this as an "Organic EL" Display. I also noticed that the LCD display version appears to have a silver body, while the version with the Organic EL display has a black body. I haven't found any information about different variations/model numbers, and both of these units appear to have the same model number, so I'm a little confused as to how distinguish between the two when ordering. Also, any comments on pros or cons of the LCD version vs. the Organic EL version would be appreciated. Thanks!
  4. One of the reasons I'm leaning toward a Hi-MD player over an mp3 player is that in addition to playing back music and MP3s, I'd like to have a device with a mic input jack for recording from an external microphone. I realize that some mp3 players do have input jacks, however I've only found mp3 players with line level inputs, in which case a mic level signal would be much too low for proper recording. That said, does anyone know of mp3 players/recorders that offer a stereo mic level input jack? I believe there's an accessory that allows microphones to be attached to an iPod for recording, however I read that the iPod's sampling frequency is only 8 kHz which would be unacceptable for my applications. This brings up another question...of any mp3 players with a mic input, can any match the 44.1 kHz sampling frequency and PCM recording option of Hi-MD recorders? Thanks!
  5. Hi All. Just thought I'd see if anyone might be able to offer a brief comparison of the MZ-RH10 and MZ-M10 Hi-MD players/recorders. From what I've gathered, the MZ-M10 seems to be one of Sony's professional / business Hi-MD recorders, and as I plan on purchasing a Hi-MD unit for recording, the dedicated meters on the M10's display are definitely a plus in my book (whereas the meters must be accessed through a menu on the RH10). However, I'm curious as to whether or not the M10 offers the same amount of "MP3-player" style functionality of the RH10, or if it is meant to primarily function as a recorder and thus lacks some of the audio upload and playback capabilities of the RH10. I can't seem to find an instruction manual for the M10 (anyone know where I might be able to download one?), so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
