Sorry if this isn't a new find... I tried (don't ask why) my remote (RM-MZ3R) from my old MZ-R70 on my new MZ-NH600 (was on a tight budget, very pleased so far). Not only does it work in the MZ-NH600 for skipping/scanning through tracks and changing the volume, the track mark and pause buttons change the folder being played, pause goes backwards and t-mark forwards. Not bad for something I bought about five years ago, remember buying the player for three times the price of the NH600. Just need to work out how to nicely reduce the ten metres of cabling between my ears and the unit itself now.
