matt thanks for your help, no problems with the upgrade and find that sonic stage is alot easier than connect to use espescialy when making playlists. jof, im australian, living and working near melbourne in victoria. and anyone who is wondering the upgrade doesnt affect the volume hack.

quick question to try avoid the connect hassels if i can, do i really need to take all 987 songs off the player before i can upgrade. another quick question, i curently only have version 1 does that mean i have to upgrade to version 2 and then to 3 or can i just upgrade to version 3
