I read and re-read the manual but I am still not certain whther the above recorder will add a track mark right after I press the pause button. That is, the moment I re-press the pause button to restart recording, the NH600 will create a new track mark. I am trying to achieve the following: -Record a live rehearsal of a song -press pause to pause the recording -repress pause to start recording of another song. This way, when I transfer to PC, each song has it's own track no. and so much easier to manage. Will this work or is there a more simpler method to add track mark without too much fiddling during recording. Many Thanks Pat

So, doing a live band home recording using PCM would yield a far superior sound then using HI-MD SP or LP? And I can use Sonic Stage to convert the PCM recordings to wav? On one of the above replies, the poster said that there is an option on Sonci Stage Tool Option to uncheck auto convert to wav. I can't find that option. Can anyone assist? Many Thanks Patrick

Hi AA40 I cannot find that option in the tools menu to uncheck auto convert to wav. Thanks Pat

If I record using PCM format, I can also upload to PC and convert to wav? I thought there were some restrictions in the type of recording format to be able to upload and convert to wav? Thanks Pat

Hi Am calling from Sydney Australia. I just rcvd my HI-MD MZ-NH600. The only reason I got this is to record my bands live/home songs (recordings). I know I can use the analogue line in on the above recorder to do this. All instruments/vocals will be coming out of out mixer. Record Out (on mixer) to Line In (MD Recorder) The other only reason I got the HI MD recorder is the ability to transfer recording to my computer where I can convert the HI MD recodings into wav. I then conver the wav to mp3. The box comes with Sonic Stage 2.2 which I understand is a very old version. Is the newer version (4) windows xp compatible? Where can I d/load that from? Do I need a separate utility to convert the hi-md recordings to wav? I know this subjects been covered to death. It's just that we'd be doing trial recordings this weekend and I'd like to know I've got the basics covered and not spend too much valuable band time fiddling with the right recording format, conversion utility etc etc. I undersand too that to be able to transfer and convert hi-md live recordings to computer,hi-md recorder must be set to record on, at least HI-SP? I read on one of the threads that the only method of transferring a live recording to computer is using a male-male 3.5 stereo rca plug? I am confused. I thought it was via the included usb cable? many many Thanks for your patience and help. Rgds Patrick

Many Thanks The md recorder/player will be strictly used for recording band music via my desktop mix board. The Line out from the mixer to the line in of the MD player. Then I would want to transfer to my pc into wav format. With wav format, I can convert ot mp3 for easy distriution or burn to cd in wav format. Where can I go to, to get more details of what format is recording required to upload to pc? This is the only purpose of getting the md player. Rgds & Thanks pat

I am in Sydney. Would the sound playback from the recording be better on the 700 model? Thanks Pat

Hi The sony MZ-NH600 & 700 HI Md Redorder/Player is selling for about A$99 and $149 repectively. This is cheap considering the RRP is about $399. whya re they selling them so cheap? I am looking for a HI-MD recorder/player to record our band's rehearsals/ gigs via the line input. I understand with HI-MD's, there is a software that would allow me to convert recordings to wav and transfer to pc? Does this software comes bundled with these 2 models? Are the bundled software latest version as I read older version has some limitations? Many Thanks Pat

Hi There Not sure if this is the right place for this topic. I am in the process of getting a mini disk recorder. It will be hooked up to my power mixer to record our band performance. How do we get the songs on the mini disk to the computer in wav format? Many Thanks Patrick

Hello This is my first post here and I am not sure if I am in the correct forum. I apologies if I am not. My friend has an MD player/recorder (portable). We've recorded some of our rehearsals recently by pluggingthe player/recorder to the 'out' of the power mixer. What I would like to know is what format is the recording in? How can we get the recording to my pc to conver to wav/mp3 to post into our bands website? Any tips, suggestions and recommendations would be highly appreciative. Rgds Patrick
