Actually, I don't have id3 tags on any of my mp3s. Could this be the cause of my problems?

I'm using SonicStage 3.2 and the MZ-RH910 and I want to transfer some mp3's onto a minidisc. For some odd reason everytime I transfer files SonicStage insists on retagging the files as "untitled" so I basically end up with 100 some odd "untitled" songs and no way to distinguish between any of them. Is there a way to keep the program from automatically renaming or retagging files after it transfers to the MD? Thanks for any help you can give me.
