Hi Everyone I have a Sony MZ-NH900 which I mainly use to record music workshops and the odd lecture. I have apparently lost the tracks on one of my HiMD recorded disks during a failed transfer process using SonicStage v3.1 and wondered if anyone could offer any advise / method for retrieving data remaining on disk. Here is more or less what happened: - transfered the first of 2 HiMD formatted disks (Maxell XL-II 80 mins Disk) - the transfer was fine and in the dialog which says 'Transfer Complete - do you want to convert to WAV ?' (or similar) I checked the box which said something like 'always convert to WAV format on transferring' - I then put the second HiMD formatted disk into the recorder and SonicStage recognised it and listed the recorded tracks. I clicked transfer and watched the first track transfer OK. - The second track began to transfer and at this point, I switched to windows Explorer to check that the newly transferred files were indeed WAV format and were going to where I thought they were going. - On switching back to SonicStage, I found a dialog saying words to the effect of 'File Transfer Failed ..." - I clicked transfer again and it gave me a message saying "Files can only be transferred once" (or similar) - I then restarted the program only to find that there were now no tracks listed on the HiMD window on the right !! - I disconnected the USB lead from the MZ-NH900, ejected the disk and put it back in and "NO TRACK" flashes on the display. - on reconnecting the USB lead and inspecting the disk under Windows explorer, I see that there is an HMDHIFI folder with 8 files with extension .HMA, one of which is ATDATA06.HMA and is about 135 Mb in size - Presumably this is my RECORDED DATA and it seems to me more a case of the File index has been removed from the HiMD disk rather than the data being removed !!?? DOES ANYONE KNOW IF IT IS POSSIBLE TO RETRIEVE THE DATA FROM THIS DISK AND IF SO WOULD YOU BE KIND ENOUGH TO EXPLAIN HOW Many thanks for reading my essay With best wishes Paddy
