I've had the NH1 for 1 month but so far i've had no problem whatsoever with it. the unit is small and the buttons take some time to used to it but I almost never use the button on the unit itself anyway. The remote is great, hasn't had a problem. my battery last about 14 to 16 hours during playback of track encoded in SP. so far i'm happy with it. the unit is really small and light and it fits in my pocket just nice. btw i've got another question. I bought the unit from www.minidisc.com.au so i'm assuming that the unit is australian unit right? but the back of the unit states that it's made in japan... so is there any difference between the 2 unit??

thanks for the reply Another question I want to ask is I remember reading something about fake SP and real SP. Can anyone give me an explanation for this and if NH1 is capable of recording real SP? I also read that RH10 can only record in Hi-MD Mode (but will play SP, LP,etc or record it using sonic stage). Is this true? Sorry for the questions as I'm new to Hi-MD... My old unit is the R70 so I don't concern myself with recording mode or whatever since it only supports the original ATRAC (am I right??)

Doesn't anyone know the difference between NH1 and RH10??? Other than the OLED on RH10 and that RH10 can play native mp3...

Hi I'm new to this forum Just a few question i wanna ask... I have a Sony MZ-R70 that was bought somewhere in March/April 1999... I was thinking of replacing it as it was old and it's starting to give me problems... (sometimes it won't load/play the md...) So I browsed around, did some research and thought of buying the RH-10. The thing is I end up buying a NH-1 instead (cause it's damn cheap) and I was wondering if anyone can tell me the difference between the two units. I know that the RH-10 will play native mp3 format straight away without conversion to ATRAC and it's got those pretty OLED (one of the reason i wanted one). And the reason I didn't get the RH-10 was that I read that the screen was prone to scratches and finger marks... I like to keep my things in perfect condition... Anyway my NH-1 unit just came this morning... and i'm pretty satisfied with it
