mz-r70user

i have an old portable md player that came out before the net md. it is the sony mz-r70. i borrowed my friend's net md player to make a disc since those could record faster and record more songs. the problem is that the discs will not play on my player. they work fine on the net md player. is there any way to get my player to play those discs or am i out of luck?
