Funnily enough, I got a batch of Hi-Space when I first bought my md and not a single one of them has given me a any problem, despite heavy usage and a sometimes less-than-careful treatment. Just luck, I suppose.

TDK: I've had one bad disk so far and gosh was it annoying. Haven't had many others or many issues with the disks themselves but I needed to know if I was missing something - yes, yes, no smart responses to that, please! Again, thanks.

Hi This has probably been asked a squidjillion times but I'm having trouble finding the correct words to search for. Basically, can anyone put together a top ten of media manufacturers? Who is number one for manufacturing reliable and robust media?

I had a similar problem with my MZ-N1. I had Sony look at it and they replaced the motor, saying it had 'worn out'. It's fine now.

Hi Sorry if this has been covered, I've done a search but come up with nothing. I have a Sony MZ-N1 for three years and over the past few months, when recording, the unit makes a strange and worrying mechanical noise, like clicking but not quite. On listening to the recordings, silences appear where the mechanical noises occurred. What can I do? The problem occurs less when I hold the recorder vertical but this is not the real solution. I am in Ireland and may have problems accessing a competent repair person. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
