Hey Syrius...thanks for the response. you were correct. it does appear that the top spike is shorter than the bottom one. so..is there a fix or am i stuck with a $300 md that does not record?

I have had a MZ-NH900 MD for about a year. All of sudden it will not allow me to record. It keeps coming up "protected disc". I have tried at least 15 different discs and it comes up the same. if anyone has any suggestions on this it would be greatly apprectiated. as a musician this unit is a part of my daily existance... ny
