Guys! I always wanted to get a home MD deck, but after a very very very long research, I've only found 2 models that fit my needs (It must have a PS/2 keyboard input for titling, and a digital optical input and output): - Sony MDS-JB940/980 (The 940 it's not available right now, so I've to get the 980 in that case, but it's an Europe Only model, not exported to any part of the world, including Chile) - Tascam MD-350 (It's not exactly a home deck, it's a PRO deck, but it's affordable enough for my needs and my budget) The local Sony Center DOES NOT import any MD home machines right now (I'll try with the Pro Sony local representative), so I have no other choice than the Tascam. (And I've found it on sale this week in the only store that carries it) I need to know two things: - I'm planning to hook up the deck digitally to a DVD player, only as a source. If I choose the Tascam, can it make sync-digital recording like the Sony home and portable recorders? When I hook up my R500 to my DVD player, in recording mode, it starts to rec automatically when I leave the pause in the DVD. (I can't find any info about that in the manual). I want the same thing in my home deck - It's possible to remove the rack mount in the Tascam to leave it like an standard home recorder? (It's mainly for security reasons, I don't want to be hurt when I'm cleaning..... and because I don't have much space in my bedroom, and if I get a rack mount in the future, probably use it) Thanks for the help (and sorry if my english it's not good enough).
