  1. i've beeen recording songs lately - they're pretty crude home recordings, but i just wanted to try and see if i could do it. influenced by quite a few things, kevin sheilds, electronic, holly golightly, mary timony... if this makes sense to anyone, then i could send you my demos on md
  2. nope, sp 2 still says my key or authentication is invalid. oh well. but thanks for going to that trouble anyway.
  3. yeah, simple burner will work on its own. hmmmm to answer my own question, i did a complete uninstall including removing registry entries, and the dlls and cddb files it seemed to want to load at startup. now windows works fine. i think the problem with ss refusing to load is also to do with the registry...
  4. thanks for that. i did give it a go, but i suspect microsoft might have put in extra steps to counter it. i am thinking of abandoning sonicstage altogether since it still refuses to load (although the windows problem hasn't been fixed), and using M3U2USB to mount an image in simple burner.
  5. unfortunately i can't install the xp service pack 2 as it says my windows is not authenticated. uninstalling all sonicstage and openmg modules won't make my windows function properly either. hmmm, this problem is bigger than i thought.
  6. Hi all, after hearing how much better Sonicstage 3.3 is compared to older versions, I thought I'd give it a try. So I uninstaled my old 2.x version, put the new one in, and then rebooted my computer. It now takes significantly longer to load from the Windows login screen, and then hangs after just loading the wallpaper (although if I force explore.exe to run, I find that the rest of my programs and files are still there). When I try to run Sonicstage, it keeps giving me the error message saying that I need to reboot the system and then login as administrator (but am already logged in as such). Tried reinstalling several times, downloaded the install file from Sony as well as the file on the boards, but the same thing still happens. I am on XP - have to get back to you in a tick about the service pack no. Many thanks in advance.
