Just got a new NHF800 through Minidisc Australia - am really thrilled by price Oz$179 since I need it for recording music lessons and none of the mem stick based ones cut it - however, it comes with some large and some small clamp filters attacted to the DC unit (2 small and 1 large), the remote (1 small) and the usb cable (2 large, 1 small) which are unsightly and heavy! Does anyone know what's up with this? The only info I have is a loose leaf insert that says to attach a supplied clamp filter to the cord of a stereo microphone if I add one "to comply with the applicable EMC standards". I'm suspecting this is something to do with Australian regulations on imported units? Will my unit (or me lol) be harmed by me taking them off, I already took the one off th remote control - it was annoying and cutting into the cable. (ETA: I'm also worried that connectors in the cable will be broken by the strain of the looped around cable) Any advice anyone?
