  1. -does SS allow you to convert an MP3 to A3/A3+? *failed* Error msg: Sonicstage (00000908-7209) <-- in title bar of the error window Cannot Convert the specified track. Possible reasons may include: - The track (files) can not be found. - Sonicstage does not support the file format of the track. - Track is Copyprotected. (00000000) Same thing for both converting to A3 and A3+... tried different tracks, noone is copyrighted, same error. - does SS allow you to convert wav to A3/A3+? *sucess* worked fine on converting to both A3 and A3+... - does SS allow you to transfer a A3/A3+ track to HiMD? *????* no idea, since I did create A3/A3+ files from the wav, I thought I could add them to the library for me to copy them to download them to the Hi-MD player, but said "Cannot find music files that are not registered to Sonicstage" *sucess* So I imported from a CD and created A3+ files from it to my library, and had no problems copying them to my HD keeping the format (A3+) and its bitrate, even tried changing to a lower bitrate, and had no problems at all.... seems like the problems is with mp3s only... - does SS allow you to initialize/format a disc? yup... this has never been a problem... even creating groups, deleting tracks that are already in the disk, naming the disk, etc... - have you checked the prefs yeah, I usually force converting since all my files are mp3s (my hi-MD doesnt play mp3s), into 64 kbps A3+ for space ... When I imported a CD into A3/A3+ files, used both options "transfer with no conversion" and "convert to specified bitrate", had no probs at all... so... seems like the problem lies with mp3s... can not convert them into A3/A3+, not when dragging them directly from library to Hi-MD, neither when converting them in the library. any ideas?
  2. Ok... I've been trying to solve this for 4 days now, and I am just running out of ideas, besides the last move which would be to Format my system and reinstall everything from scratch... which I dont want to do.. my system works great, except for sonicstage... I'm using SS3.3 for a Hi-MD MZ-NH700 Updated from 2.1 when it stopped working due to a certain windows update thing) on a P4 2.0 GHz, 512 MB RAM, WinXP Pro (SP1 at first, and then SP2). It worked at first, worked great, last time I used it was like a month a go still with SP1, and then It just WONT let me download music to my Hi-MD AT ALL!!... the error msg?.. "Transfers are not Allowed", and it doesnt even encode the file before trying to send it. All my music is in mp3s, lots of bitrates from 128 and up, CBR and VBR, never had a problem with it. Tried enconding them into different bitrates of ac3 and ac3 plus (only formats my Hi-MD can play) I've tried everything, reinstalling, followed the thread in which I have to manually delete all traces, even updated to SP2 against my will, uninstalled ffdshow, tried isntalling the official one by Sony, the MDCF installer, the ss2.1 bundled with my Hi-MD, ss2.3.... and the only difference is that ss2.x pops up an error about "audio format not supported" or something like that, dun remember the exact phrase. I have no idea wut is going on.... everything else works fine, I have no problems playing songs in SS, neither from the library nor from the Hi-MD, I can even use MD simple burner correctly, it encodes from CD and transfers correctly.... Kinda... gives me the idea that is an encoding problem with SS, like... it tries to send them as mp3s... I DONT KNOW!! help!
