  1. I have had player for 18 months and battery life has declined a bit as expected. However, last couple of weeks I am getting "low battery" message and the player shuts down even though the charge indicator is showing 3/4 full charge. This has happened several times after listerning for about 15 minutes and occurs when I get the HDD spinning for some reason e.g. to select another track or add to trash bin. It doesn't happen every time though. If I leave the player for a bit it will start up and plays as normal. (by a bit I mean a couple of hours, but it may come back quicker I just haven't be able to test it). Sorry if this has been raised before, I searched but all problems seem to be with delcining life full stop. Any advice appreciated.
  2. Whenever I get this message its always because I have already transferred track to SS. It happens because I have left a folder checked from a previous transfer and the file(s) is already on SS.
  3. I did initialise and the device is now recognised. Restore from backup was less than 100% but thats another story.
  4. I have same problem. I have tried everything suggested in the threads (and from other forum) but still no go. The onlly thing I haven't be able to do is to delete the sptd file from registry - I don't seem to have one. Sony suggested the following: Make sure you are logged in with an administrator account - Right click on [My Computer] on the desktop and select [Properties] Or - Click [start] and select the [Control Panel] - Double click on [system] - Once in the [system Properties], select the [Hardware] tab at the top - Click on the button marked [Device Manager] You will then be displayed a window showing all components connected to your computer, so make sure your MP3 player is connected at the point. - Click on the [+] button located next to the [universal Serial Bus Controller] section - Under the list, you will see the MP3 player listed under [uSB Mass Storage Device] - Right click on the device and select [uninstall] - Select [Yes] to remove the device - Restart your computer with the MP3 player still connected - When the computer has restarted, wait for the hardware installation to complete That didn't make any difference and they have now suggested I initalise the device. I will probably try but I have read eslewehre that this doesn't always work, in which case I will be left with nothing.
  5. I am having similar problems with NWA 3000. Everthing fine unyil other day when SS (4.2) won't conect to device. Windows reconises it as a drive but device just says connecting and gets no further. I have read through previous posts. I have unistalled SS and deleted all files and changed registry as instructed in the pinned SS Software FAQ (although I could not find SPTD entry in registry). Reinstalled SS (4.3) but no change. Running XP professional which is fully up to date with service packs etc. Any advice really would be appreciated
  6. Sorry if I am missing something, but MartyF seemed to be saying that if he trashes track on player then connects to SS the track will be deleted from player (his problem seems to be with SS which I assme he means library) I can't even manage this. If I trash on players and then connect to SS nothing happens, track stays in SS. Sony told me this was normal with SS. Totally agree its all a pain. I also have a lot fo radio stuff and I would like to delete on player and get rid of ell traces.
  7. Sony told me that this will not work with Sonic Stage, only with CP. But they also said trashing tracks would not lead to their deletion from player which you seem to be able to do (doesn't work on my NA 3000 + SSv4)

    WMA Lossless

Thanks - think I got all that. I am sure it was the issue you mention of SS not recognising legit files on occassion; I have had similar problems with other transfers. Defintely not the DRM issue. Never needed to do batch transfers so far but I will keep in mind what you suggest

    WMA Lossless

Thanks for the advice and apolgies for delay in acknolwedgement. I had tried to convert on fly by selecting whole album in library but nothing happened. Recently tried single track -again nothing; tried again and it worked and then it worked for multiple tracks. Didn't even seem that slow although I don't have much experience to judge this by. I guess this is SS again?

    WMA Lossless

I ripped some CDs using windows media player set to WMA lossless. These would not transfer to device (NWA3000 plus SS 4.0). Ripped again with player set to WMA and they transferred fine. Any suggestions for transferring from WMA lossless would be much appreciated. (there is a reason why I want to do it this way)
  11. Bought a month ago. I have only used Sonic Stage (V4) and seems to work fine. Only problem is that if I set tracks to trash bin on the device they are not deleted when I connect device to SS. Does this only work with connect or should SS alos delete tracks? Thanks in advance for any advice
