We tried that, it doesnt work.

I know most games can. Also probably most programs, as long as they don't need the registry/system.

Yeah, Japanese only. My SS with my NW-S718F connected. You can see the demo tracks that came with the player. It doesn't recognize the model number, just "ATRAC Audio Device". I have my "Language for Non-Unicode Programs" set to Japanese all the time and when I installed SS. That's the only difference I could think of, but it doesn't seem like that should effect connectivity of the mp3 player. Also, this is the error I get from Japanese titles in SS:

Can anybody help with getting Japanese characters to work? I tried editing the registry like the sticky post said, but when I run SS in Applocale, I get "Your current system settings can already accommodate the target application in the language you have selected.//Click Finish and AppLocale will launch the target application without any compatibility support." and it still doesn't support the characters.

hmm, it works perfectly fine for me. Not sure why it wouldn't for you

I was guessing since the drag and drop thing was introduced to only US and Europe, that might be the reason the US version of 4.3 isn't recognizing it. Since Asia Pacific doesn't fall in those categories, I figured it would be worth a try. The mp3 player is still restricted to Japanese only. The only problem I'm having now is Japanese character support in Sonic Stage. My old Connect Player worked with Japanese characters but this one doesn't seem to be. I get a bunch of ???? in SS, I can't pull from folders or filenames with kata/kanji in it, but it does show the characters on the player itself after I transfer, assuming I don't edit the titles (or else I get ??? on the player too).

You guys were right, I was having the language problem. http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=9586 Download the Asia-Pacific version of 4.3 and it recognizes the S718F

Thanks. One issue I was worried about was if Sonicstage wrote stuff into the registry, etc. thereby limiting the use of the program to the computer it was installed on. If this wasn't a problem, I should be able to, maybe, install Sonicstage onto the MP3 player itself?

My MP3 players: NW-A608, NW-S718F After using Sonic Stage for a 5 years I should know this stuff, but I dont... Can I transfer tracks from my mp3 player to my computer? Can I use more than 1 computer to add music to it? I've always assumed not, so I've never really tried. I bought an external harddrive I was planning on moving all my music onto. Am I able to install Sonic Stage onto the external harddrive so if I switch from my desktop (home) to my laptop (travel), I still have my entire library with me and I can edit my MP3 players when I choose?

If you bought it from a proper retailer (not ebay), the employees warn you that it doesn't have Japanese menu's or that it wont work without Japanese windows, etc. I just picked this up in Japan too, but I won't be able to try installing it until tomorrow. I don't usually have too big a problem though. Have you guys tried using applocale to install?

Well, that explains why drag and drop isnt working. Sonicstage doesn't seem to recognize it, but it might just be that I have to update it.

Does this mean that this model doesn't support drag and drop?
