You probably want to go brand new and Hi-MD? If so, the NH700 sounds right up your alley.
-
RobA: You should really read this 2-week-old thread. http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=15369 And, scroll down to about post #13. It will show you the answer to your hopes about: "All the new features of the rh1, plus the beloved features of the rh10 (large display, jog dial on unit, AA addon, etc.) will make the perfect unit."
-
Actually, you post so much every day that no, I don't remember or keep track. If I were you, I'd invest in some spare LIP4WM's. I can usually go more than an entire day with 1 battery on my NH1/3D. And, since it is a collector's item (and more) to you, maybe think about investing in a player-only unit to reduce wear on your DH10P. I think you're using it more (besides the fact that it IS a nice unit) just out of novelty (it's new and your first MD unit) and you're part of a online community that makes you excited to have one. Perhaps some day the newness will wear off and you'll alternate between the DH10P and your other non-MD gear.
-
You sure can, provided that your friend also gave you the USB cord for the unit so that you can connect the MD unit to your computer. If you have it, then you're set. You'll also need to install the MT899's driver (available for free download from this site) first, then install the most recent SonicStage (also free). Good luck!

I would do an eBay search on completed listings for JB980 or minidisc deck. Good luck.

If you read this thread, then you will see that Hi-MD will now be focused on professional and business recording only. http://www.audiotstation.com/forum/showthr...74&page=1&pp=10

It won't just peel off? The metallic-ish sticker that was on my MZ-N1 did. I think richyhu's black DH10P came with the same sticker. If he doesn't see this, maybe you can PM him about it. Then, you can take more pics with your DH10P stickerless.

Oh, they need to update their site then. It says the Onkyo X-B8 comes in silver, brown, and black. But, I guess this isn't the first time that Audiocubes lists something incorrectly. Thanks for the heads up. I found a pic of the "brown." I guess I was expecting something darker (like a chocolate brown) and not wood-like. Onkyo X-B7 (Y)

It probably depends on how often you use it. For me, I had other MD players (lol N505 is one of them) and a deck so once the N1 went a little screwy, it started seeing less use. It was less than 2 months before I sold it to a friend who is an engineering student and wanted to play around with it. Could have probably gone for a little longer. The playback berzerk didn't happen all the time, but often enough that it was noticeable and getting irritating.

Amazing what 20 years will do to a person's face and hair.
-
Very nice black. The piano finish on those speakers is wow. Did you buy this from Audiocubes? I'm kind of curious to see how the brown version looks.
-
Chris: Sounds like what happened to my N1. After its recording ability was lost, I was still able to use it as a player-only unit. But, then after a while, even the playback ability was going berzerk. Good luck!

Google is your friend. (Keyword: e3) http://www.e3insider.com/portal/

E3 = Electronic Entertainment Expo. It says it on the blue banner in the pics.
-
Very nice. Do you plan on taking that sticker off?

This still sounds like a decent buy for someone on a budget. Also, according to HeadFi, the CX300 beat out the EX71. Based on their reviews, these are said to be better for classical music, not pop or disco, which seem to be your style of music. Side note: You said you hate jazz. Follower! Taken from that reviewers post:

The radio remote can also be used with the NH700.

Check out this thread: Minidisc.org was hacked! I'd shoot a PM to the admins, "kurisu" or "Webmaster." Good luck!
-
Downloading now. Thanks for the heads up.

If you click on the link that says "read more here," it leads you to a thread where people have confirmed that both the 39lt and 37lt work with the Euro and Aussie NH700. That thread has some info that you'd be interested in so you should read the whole thing. Good luck!
-
Pretty minor detail, but I think the NF810 can also use NiMH. I've seen new NH700's go for around US$100 on eBay. Another option would be to get that and a radio remote like the 37lt (~$17-25) if you want to stay Hi-MD but with radio function. read more here

Sony Hi-MD Walkman MZ-RH1 Pictorial
jaylen replied to Ishiyoshi's topic in Product Reviews/Pictorials
Great pictorial. It's nice to see the little details and comparison to other well-known units. The battery door doesn't look as flimsy anymore. -
Nice. That prompted me to pop in this album: 1. Island Of Souls 2. All This Time 3. Mad About You 4. Jeremiah Blues (Part 1) 5. Why Should I Cry For You 6. Saint Agnes And The Burning Train 7. The Wild Wild Sea 8. The Soul Cages 9. When The Angels Fall

Are you talking about "Beginner" underneath your forum username in your posts? I've seen a lot of people with non-standard titles. 1. My Controls 2. Edit profile information 3. Custom member title Or, you can keep posting - your title changes every time you reach a certain post count.

Nice pictorial, but I don't know. I like the opaque barcode better. These look kind of cheapy compared to the other BC MDs.
