Nothing shameful about owning an iPod or anything not Minidisc. But, what is shameful is letting a crowd of strangers on the internet "bully" you into thinking so. Everyone has different (audio) needs and I'm sure everyone on this forum will be (and should be) respectful of that, including the Mods, whom I find to be pretty professional (and hilarious) about things. I received a video iPod as a gift myself and there are others here with iPods. You just don't see us talking about them, well, because this IS a minidisc forum afterall. philpem: Congrats on your RH1. The Onkyo Hi-MD decks have been available at AudioCubes and other Japanese e-tailers (can't remember right now - richyhu would know better) for some time now. Might be a nice addition to your new MD portable.

I was just playing around with you (and stalling for the E35/40ELK test because I went to afternoon Happy Hour, which led into night Happier Hour), but nice to see you have a sense of humor. So I tried it, and well, for the most part, it works. Here's the weird stuff: backlight, noscrolling with jog wheel = nothingpressing jog dial = pause"play button" = nothing, but to play a track, pressing volume, "sound," or RR/FF works"sound" button = FF one song at a time3-line display, no; only shows track number + (album OR song OR counter) and pressing "display" shuffles through those 3 choicesall play modes (repeat, shuffle, repeat 1), volume and stop buttons, and battery meter workthe text font is HUGE; I would've taken a pic, but my camera is being borrowed right now; think of a very large and spaced-out version of Times New Roman; in fact, the display text is much bigger than the white "Sony" at the top of the remote's LCD With all these quirks, it seems like the 40ELK works best with MDLP units and newer, but workable with SP-only units, if you can deal with the list above.

I'd try it with my E35, but it'll cost you... Or, a thank you for bob, raintheory, and me will do.

I also have a universal adapter from RadioShack only because I have MD units that need 3V and 6V. If you don't want to go universal, you can also try looking for the Sony AC-E30A worldwide 3V DC adaptor - it's pretty small. I've seen it in electronics stores like Frys and BestBuy for US$20. As far as I know, your N510 can't upload to computer. Looking at the pinned topics at the top of the forum should give you the confirmation for which you're looking. Try the pinned thread called "Uploading information for confused users: Want to upload audio from your NetMD?"

Also works with the E720. Like raintheory, scrolling with the jog wheel does nothing. But, pressing the jog wheel does something different. For example, if you're on track 2, pressing takes you to track 1. Pressing it again takes you to the last track. Basically, pressing flipflops you between the 1st/last track. The 3-line display works (shows track number, album, song), but again, you can't wheel-scroll through the songs. All play modes and sound options work. Even the little walkman animation upon start-up is shown.

I think that yuff's avatar was meant to say anything.

I don't really like them. I do like Evanescence though and a friend of mine suggested Lacuna Coil since he's big on Evanescence and the like. So yeah, I was a bit disappointed with the Lacuna coil album that I bought.
-
lol Say what? I was just recommending the group, Lacuna coil (and their album, "Karmacode"), to you since you like Evanescence. I think they have a similar sound. Short clips of Lacuna Coil's songs should be listenable on Amazon.com. *end of translation*
-
Since you like Evanescence, you should check out clips of Lacuna Coil's Karmacode and others (if you haven't already).

Are these units hard to find in Europe or something? SonyStyle USA still has them for $99.95. http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP....oductSKU=MCMDR1

Click on the thread that I linked. Might give you some clues on where to buy or who to ask. But, me, I have no idea where to buy.

How about these as an alternative? Mashimaro gumsticks that were reviewed sometime ago and said to last longer (of course, this is user-dependent) than the regular gumsticks. I've seen them run under $30 including shipping. Plus, they're awfully cute. http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=9831

lol True. At first glance, it does look like the Olsen twins. It is chickie country with a slight *gasp* pop sound to it.
-
Have a great Sweet 16, Daniel. lol And, a happy birthday. Keep your NH1 away from that grape soda.

The Wreckers - Stand Still, Look Pretty. Not my kind of music at all and I'm not a Michelle Branch fan, but I heard this CD in a friend's car and I found a few of their songs to be catchy and fun!

When I get my camera back from one of the roommies. Yeah, I'll most likely do it here. Only because you said please AND called me a hussy. lol And, T-Board has no pictorial section anyway.
-
LOL. Can you see what finger I'm holding up, too, Adrian? I just didn't want this thread to be derailed from its current honesty vs dishonesty track. Entertainment I tell ya!
-
LOL. I bet those sound amazing. Eggos and cheese headphones sound like a nutritious match. *sigh* I got another pair of headphones earlier today. Bringing my impulse buy to 2. <3 Pic for buy #2:

The RH1 will most likely not be available in their retail stores, but for online purchase only. Please read the earlier posts carefully as to not create confusion. "Store pickup: not available" and Justin42 mentioned that he could only get his NH1 from Best Buy via internet. Just to make it clear, I posted this in case some people are avid/loyal Best Buy shoppers or have store credit that they need to use. It's definitely not the best deal out there for the RH1, but just simply a heads up. So, please no more comments like "you can get it cheaper [here] or [there]" or "for that price you can get the iWhatever," as there are TONS of threads discussing that subject matter already. Thanks. Edit: Font change for emphasis.

Another pair of new headphones.

Not sure if this was already posted or not, but I stumbled across this while attempting to check prices on MD blanks for TBRaja. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1149206659074 If this is a duplicate, please delete. Thanks.

*angry robot voice* Resolder??? Mid-long cord??? Does not compute. I just want to know which is better??? E931 or E930. What about any of the other Sony EX series with the SP cord? Will any of them suit my needs? I really want the SP cord or similar. Under $30 with shipping, of course. Sidenote: lol This role playing may actually help out finalcoolman and his thought process and decision-making. If not, oh well, I'm surely having some fun with it.

From my understanding, with a Point-And-Shoot's optical viewfinder, you're looking through a separate window. With a DSLR, I believe you're actually looking through the lens of the camera itself. Edit: Ivan beat me to it by a minute. lol And, his explanation is way better.

Oooh, I didn't know that. After doing more searching on Head-Fi, I ran into this thread: http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=113171 I may just try it. Well, once I find a geek with a soldering iron that I can borrow.

*trembling robot voice* My budget is $30 and I don't like Panasonic. Maybe I'll just flip a coin.
