I've got an NW-E407 1GB, purchased in Germany - and i fancied boosting the volume... well - i figured d/loading the non-EURO firmware might give my volume level a kick... but it remains the same - however i've never needed to use it at max. volume anyway so don't let this 'problem' put you off buying an incredibly good player
