I downloaded driver files from this site. They said they were "read only" Does this mean they were NOT applied? ( my computer still doesn't read the device)

Marty, Thanks for getting back to me. Because I didn't have the disk for the software I thought perhaps I haven't gotten the correct driver. I will check this site for the proper one. Does the disk have only the music managment programs or does it have the proper driver as well? I glad the USB cable should be the right one because SONY wants $47 for a replacement!!! Robbery. You seem to be sold on SONY MD products, I hope I can get this puppy working. If you can think of anything else I might try feel free to contact me. I'm running Windows 2000 Pro

Can I use a 5-pin Mini-B USB cable instead of what comes with a Sony MZN420D I bought the Sony on ebay and it came with nothing but the unit. I've downloaded everything I think I need but my computer doesn't recognized it. I bought the above cable but it still doesn't work. I have SonicStage 3.4 and Simple Burner and I think I have the required Driver installed. What the heck am I doing wrong
