I am looking to buy a portable MD player. I'm not too concerned with fancy features, ie, recording, downloading, etc, etc. I only want to use it for playing music, though I want it to have the standard features of play/PAUSE, good volume control, good sound for everything from classical to metal to country to new age. I have a sony mdx-d3 cd/md player/recorder from 2000. I believe it records in ATRAC 4.5. Could any of the newer portables (net MD or hi-Md) play my old standard minidiscs, though they usually play back ATRAC 3? For instance, would one like this work to play my standard play minidiscs, and does it sound good? Sony MZ-DN430PSBLK Psyc MiniDisc Network Walkman
