  1. is reviving his MZ S1. :)

  2. Hi all. I have two MD units: my beloved MZ S1, which I adore, mainly cause of its sturdiness and the luminiscent display, and a MZ-NH600D, which is not too bad itself, but very simple. I have never attempted to play a HiMD encoded disc in the MZ-S1 but I wonder what would happen? surely an error message. but, has if anyone attempted to come up with some hack to make this possible? I know it's a bit redundant having one player of each technology, but since we don't have access to quality second-hand stores and MD discs are nowhere to be found here in México, I started wondering. Thanx. UPDATE: well, i just put a himd disc into my mz s1 and the display reads "HiMD DISC" and you can hear a tone, but that's it.
  3. Well, since I hate to leave problematic topics without a happy ending and the solution to the problem (as I found this topic BTW), let me tell you that after starting up Sonic Stage and erasing some tracks from the HiMD unit, all seems to be OK with Simple Burner. I am transfering Lennon's Anthology as I type. I could not tell you why it's working, but it is and I'm quite glad.
  4. Hi everyone. Sadly, I have come across this message too. I reinstalled Simple Burner 2, I edited back the hosts file (unrelated, but I thought it could have something to do) so Microsoft's Visual Web Developer Express Edition could preview files in web browsers, rebooted, disconnected the unit several times (properly), took the battery out, EVEN included Simple Burner to the trusted program's list within my firewall but nothing works. Everything seems to work fine within SS, even playback from the HiMD unit, but I love the simple, direct way to rip CDs via Simple Burner. My HiMD drive is recognized by my system (I can see the files in it via Windows Explorer) but Simple Burner says the files within any MD disc are being used by another program. Any ideas? Please?
  5. HI guys... this is my first post. I have this recurring problem witn the super reliable Simple Burner in which sometimes it transfers the whole CD, sometimes a song, sometimes nothing. I have an MZ-S1 unit, using SonicStage 3..4 and SB 2.0. Actually, I never use SS. I have a P4 1.4GHz 384RAM PC. Any ideas? My player works great though, but the transfers are a BLOODY nightmare. I've been looking for an update for SB, but I fear that is not the problem Thanx!
  6. Hi, i have installed/uninstalled SB 2.0 and i wont load. I't looked very promising, but it just won't load. Any ideas or suggestions? I'm back working with SB 1.3, and works like a charm. thanx!!
