No. I simply had some dodgy stuff leftover from an old installation. I really think Sony should built in a good uninstall script in their installer programme. How hard can it be?!
Okay, Finally fixed all problems by doing a complete uninstall and loading SS 4.0. Must go into regedit to delete references to Sony/SS. It is described in full elsewhere in Forum.
MZ-NHF800 Both computers have no skins (they are not toys) Works on P4 Laptop Does not work on AMD Dual 4200 SS does not freeze, just get no response for that function. Started with 2.0 then 3.4 then 3.0. My particular link to an online 4.0 installer seems to go to a dodgy installation as it halts and asks for a file on my c:\ drive which it can't find. I have a feeling it's a suss rogue file from a previous installation.
Okay. I've got two PCs. Both with the same installation of SS 3.0. On one, SS 3.0 is all I've ever installed and allows full functionality including transfers from HiMD to PC. On the other I've tried every version of SS and it won't transfer any recorded files to my PC. I just hit the button, get a few flickers and nothing much else. Any clues? I've tried to do complete uninstalls etc etc
I've recorded a Live LP to MD, transferred to PC, split the recorded track into separate tracks in Roxio, named the tracks. How do i ensure that when I transfer back to the MD, the Album plays without GAPS between the tracks?
GT, this is why I was asking for something more than simply "plug it in". Is there an optimum volume so that minimum distortion is received. Obviously 100% (Volume of 30) may be pushing it.
