yer u can repair the LCD, but its one entire module that includes the buttons and wheel on the front of the minidisc.... only problem is i have the same problem.. the lcd got broken and im having to pay £88.90 for the new module, and im also wretling with the darn unit so that i can take it apart and swap them.. i gotta find a service manual for it too... if your lcd is just not displaying anything, it might be where the ribbon cable has detached itself and needs to be pushed back in
